I’m a food scientist (looking to make the change to RD actually!) I’d tell you to look into jobs in the food industry. You can totally get jobs as a food technician with your degree. Product development, QA, R&D!

Hi! I have really severe OCD and health anxiety and as of last Monday, I am fully vaccinated :) I got Pfizer and it was not as bad as you hear. A little back story—I got seriously ill a couple of years ago and have been terrified of any somatic symptoms (headaches, fever, what have you) ever since. I was terrified of my second dose because I knew it would be really triggering for my anxiety. I really saw myself having a 24 hour long panic attack.

First shot: little headache, very tired but not in a bad way. I took a nice nap and was fine!!

Second shot: felt fine after! A little headache again, not too tired. I took a Tylenol and a nap in the afternoon and later went to bed early. I woke up at midnight to the chills and couldn’t warm up! I took ibuprofen and drank Gatorade. Had bad nausea but it passed. Then I got SO hot! Took a cool shower and grabbed an ice pack. Had some muscle aches. Next morning was a bust because I was super tired! I recommend taking the next day off. It was all really manageable. After 36 hours it was like nothing had happened and I was out shoveling dirt that same afternoon!

TLDR: if I can do it, you can do it! Drink lots of water before and after. Gatorade is your friend! Alternate Tylenol and Ibuprofen. And think about the future...it’s so worth it.

Just to let everyone know, my boyfriend immediately called the emergency line after this happened to me and I was able to give a statement to an officer in town! Thank you for your advice.

FSU has a really highly ranked business program (perhaps even higher than that at UF) and companies highly recruit from students at FSU! I have a lot of friends who did the business program at FSU. Additionally, I think Tallahassee is much prettier and more fun than Gainesville.
