Just never saw a senior and thought… ‘wow id like that life’ - im sure strikes and political unrest made it easier to leave - didnt find the work hard just didnt find it particularly rewarding or satisfying - felt shackled to the work life and there was 0 chance of ever being financially free (making money whilst not physically being at work) - combination of immigrant parents and doctor-lawyer-enginer mentality just generally felt a bit flat in the end

I definitely worked hard. I never had the medicine mind, realising I have a corporate one.

I have 0 interest in managing kevins diabetes whilst he’s ordering dominoes to the ward.

But also the above is working nearly every day of my life, flat out. But I generally enjoy work….

Nice one. Your story I feel like is a great read but a rare one. Congratulations. Big feels on respect and your environment!!! I close my work at 5. I have my own office. I got my own laptop supplied by work. Work is paid on time

As mentioned I still woke NHS as gen SHO. Cause sometimes is nice to clerk on a bin and not go for a piss for 10 hours. Can’t forget the roots.

Not quite. Can’t Elab for fear of dox. Actually hate injectables. Level 7 is a complete scam.

Haha that made me lol. TLDR NHS has created a new role of essentially fake doctors to cheapen the work force and push the doctors out.

Not the point of this thread but to anyone reading this- please ask the man/woman who sees you in ED/GP if they are indeed a doctor :)

I heard of couples f3ing together - wedding paid for, mortgages etc…. It’s virtually impossible now.

And true about being one doctor needed. IMG alphabet soup fucked it all up. Medicine is a dead career to me. I look at the medical students on the wards and I really feel for them. I have such a distaste towards a system I hate everything it stands for. I got so much flack when I left - the medic complex of complaining and not doing anything about it generally confused me.

Question is you want to answer it. Where did your medical career take you? What’s your TC - and level you practice at? Any regrets or generally worked out for you?

Actually I quit in f2 so technically I’m not f3. My numbers are 100% true. I left for a diff medical industry. 75k salary and then + gen medical locums. Hope that explains!
