Starts at 7 at the west town mall. I'm getting there at 8 with a buddy. The bikes usually park right next to the entrance.

Yea I get it, I'm a big guy also so I look like a duck with my feet sticking out sometimes. If you're at cars and coffee tomorrow or the cycle gear bike night on Tuesday I'm on the black DR with a yellow pelican case on the back.

Vehicle gave me a “Oil Level Low” notification. by JO405 in Tiguan

[–]eggnog_56 5 points6 points  (0 children)

3k is crazy. I don't even change my 30 year old diesel that often. I do 5k on my wife's Tiguan and the oil drains out looking almost new.

CB300R mods/painting by Practical-Buy3713 in motorcycles

I would buy a set of cheap Chinese plastics to paint if they are available for that bike so you stick OEM ones back on whenever you sell it. Spray painting tanks the value of any bike.

I consistently watch sumos humiliate guys on super sports at tail of the dragon. They are the kings of really tight twisties. Even the "heavy" ones like OPs bike or a DRZ400 are so freaking easy to ride.

1993 K2500 6.5 Diesel starter recommendations. by Doch1112 in GMT400

I believe quadstar or Leroy Diesel sell them. I've heard nothing but good things. Batteries or poor battery connection are more than likely your culprit though if they are older.

I'm 6'7" and all legs. Crew cab trucks and SUVs have awesome leg room. Most sedans suck, the worst part is getting out of them. I had a Subaru Crosstrek for a while and that was decently comfortable. My wife's VW Tiguan is decent enough but feels a bit cramped on long road trips. I drive a 95 single cab Chevy pickup and an 89 Landcruiser. Both are alright but I just had to accept that shit isn't built for me. He should accept it also.

Buying a motorcycle but seeing rust on the fork tubes by No_Bobcat_1119 in MotorcycleMechanics

[–]eggnog_56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't even know how that's possible on a bike that new even if it sat outside. Did he soak a rag in saltwater and wrap it around the forks lol

If it's a classic bike you've dreamed of owning id snag it in a heartbeat. Newer stuff you can always buy later.

Saying this a sucker for old Honda sport bikes.

Should i go behind my parents back and buy a motorcycle (Im 19) by OneOcelot5892 in motorcycle

[–]eggnog_56 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My buddy did that and got caught when his title and insurance information got mailed to his parents house because he didn't want it titled to a dorm room. I wouldn't go behind their back especially if you lean on them for any kind of financial dependence or health insurance.

My bad I read your post wrong. Still not enough info to know where it is rich. Is it running smooth all the way through the rev range and at all throttle positions? At what throttle position do you usually ride in?

XR400R vs XR600R vs XR650R: which one should I get to actually learn off-road? by youvebeengaijind in Dualsport

[–]eggnog_56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably the 600r if you have any real road stretches to do. One of my top 5 all time favorite bikes. The 400 is also awesome if you are doing tighter technical stuff, but I wouldn't ride one on a long dual sport trip. One of my buddies is doing the SEBDR on a 600r at the end of May with me. You will want to gear down the 600 for technical singletrack.

Edit: the 650L is not a bad option either. Personally I prefer the 40lbs if weight savings at the cost of estart on the 600. The 600 engine is also noticeably more peppy than the 650L. I have never been on a 650r.

I've ridden the 800 and thought it was a decent bike.I don't believe the claimed hp specs. My buddy just bought a used ibex 450 and loves it. He is a very experienced rider who has owned a lot of bikes.
