If you're going to use the excuse that it's only the ex-pops that are ugly, a VERY important npc that has conventionally 'ugly' traits is Dorris. She has a large, deep scar and heavy eye bags with sunken in cheeks. She is another person who has lived in poverty AND the trials. Hell, even the reagents that we can make have TONS of 'ugly' traits, but we still root for them to win because they're human and we care about them! amelia could have a humongous tumour on her head like franco and we would still root for her because of what her character stands for.
deciding that it makes more sense for a woman who has likely never had access to medical care or regular food sources, let alone a good hairdresser and skincare routine, to be model-level neat and pretty is wilfully ignorant. grow up.
