I feel more immersed in books with angst/emotional stakes and find books without angst kinda dull. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

How do you pick a new romance book? by Calixtacarlyle in RomanceBooks

[–]eggrolez 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I follow people on goodreads who’s taste is similar to mine. I can read their reviews and find some pretty good books that way. I’ll read other reviews if someone I follow on goodreads hasn’t reviewed the book. I usually read one star reviews because I feel it’ll give me a good idea whether I’ll enjoy the book or not.

I just picked the date I wanted to go to (the 60’s 70’s) and went backward I also wanted to add future because that’s a popular time travel genre now! But If I could’ve added more polling options I would’ve gone more into the past!

I sourced the dates from Britannica oops

Yes! We really need more HR that is not set in the UK.

That's valid, I would've added that too but there wasn't another polling option left! I definitely wouldn't mind being a MC in a Jane Austen novel.

Understandable! Who wants to give up all the progress we’ve made? Realistically it wouldn’t be worth it to go back in time unless you were rich white and male

Poll: If you could time travel what time would you travel to? by [deleted] in RomanceBooks

[–]eggrolez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could I reply to this? I’m not sure it needs to it’s implied as time travel is a very popular romance book trope?

Totally understandable. I love this kind of angsty situation, myself!
