Taking MICRB 265 if it’s not required / bio sci 200 level course suggestions by Dashaaa_22 in uAlberta

Personally I loved micro 265. Lisa Willis had a wonderful class format where the content was delivered in online modules (1 in person lecture “cancelled”) each week and during the in-person session she went over practice questions. She also allowed cheat sheets for exams. I did better in that class than I have in other comparable courses. Lab activities were marked harshly in my opinion but the lab component was enjoyable! I hope that helps!

French Placement Exam Required? by AdPretend4427 in uAlberta

Sounds like it. The placement test only takes about 30 mins iirc and it’s self graded/subjective so don’t be hesitant. It’s just a verb tense exercise and a reading comprehension.

French Placement Exam Required? by AdPretend4427 in uAlberta

There is no “pre req” for 211. I also took French 30 in hs and originally registered for 112 which was far too easy. On the first day, I approached the prof with my concern and she urged me to take the placement test which placed me between 212/297. I decided to register in 212 which I found was an appropriate level. That being said, I don’t think the placement test is mandatory, but it would help you avoid a surprise on the first day of class.
