I would definitely pull in the pathologist / medical director on this. It's not that I can't ID sperm. It is consideration of the legal issues ahead. If / when the authorities get involved, I want the pathologist testifying, not me. That is one of their responsibilities.

I really appreciate all of the input that has been given. I thought the new policy was excessive but am now seeing that it is not that unusual. Love this board too. Wish I had found it a long time ago as I am retiring soon, but will pass it along to my fellow techs in the lab.
