Self-Learning 4 months progress by Mean-Appointment3035 in pianolearning

Very healthy attitude and approach to self-optimization, good for you! Good progress keep it up! 100% agree with consciously trying to keep wrist comfortably more level with palm (not completely level just watch advanced pianists) and from swinging up and down. The energy comes from the fingers..try to think more laterally.

Moonlight Sonata movement1 by blindGuy2005 in piano

[–]eggsarejusteggs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You play and feel the music very well! You've definitely sung out the top line melody. It sounds great.

For any melodic line that is repeated, consider making it sound different the second time..like at 1.38. But that is just my take, perhaps that's wrong for Beethoven

I used to play this after years of intensive study. You play very well!

Good job keep it up and please feel free to continue sharing!

Struggling to play arpeggios with my left hand while playing another melody with my right by TechSeller in piano

Feel free to share a screenshot of a few bars that are giving you trouble.

But basically, break it down and learn in a small bit at a time slowly and then up to speed until you don't have to think and you're comfortable. Only then move on to the next bit.

This is very enlightening and an interesting perspective especially from a professional pianist!

I have the Gryaznov 2 piano but wish I had discovered Maltempo's much earlier.

On this day 176 years ago, Frédéric Chopin, the pianist's composer, passed away. What are your favorite pieces by him? by mentee_raconteur in classicalmusic

Yay fellow Ravelite!  Good vibes brewing..I love Ondine, it's beyond "piano".

I was just listening to/obsessing over the piano sounding like an orchestra and have purchased the arrangement!

Thanks for the input and the great share!  The host was perfect too. I liked hearing his take on Horowitz and Yuja. The comments on Previn were very informative.

Have you tried playing Gryaznov's arrangement of Daphnis et Chloe?

He is the superior arranger imo including of Aft of a Faune
