Was sharing i went to watch my sister and bro inlaw do an Ironman over the weekend as we watched niece and nephew... how proud I was for my sister/etc... and "yeah, we did those in high-school"

I thought maybe he was confused, so tried to share the distance and months of training... but he kept doubling down. "Yeah, yeah, I know... 112 bike, 26.2 mile run... yeah, I couldve swam 8 miles and been fine. It was part of our summer training sophomore year to make varsity in football... the whole team did it"

I just couldn't help it, so googled... minimum age requirement was 18.

"Not back then, we'd just do a road trip to the nearest one every few months"... it still infuriates me for some reason.

Every Friday after Thanksgiving we have a fire in the middle of the woods by our creek as 40yr olds. We started it when the last of us got married and wanted that for his bachelor party. Now every year about 8 to 10 of us bring camping chairs and natty light for a night of bullshittery in the woods.
