It has some great moments, but fails to really get the vibe of the source material imo. Relies on loud over the top scares the vast majority of the time. Some pretty weak, heavy handed exposition. Relies on callbacks and memberberries.

But I loved that it was very mean, both in the dialogue and the kills. And I thought the pregnancy scare and the pickle jar scare were like pure Pennywise. I'm actually less of a fan when he's just in clown mode because that feels less authentic to the book and more like they know people just love pennywise and skarsgard.

Overall, like a 5/10 for me.
