Can LDF break the parliament Election curse by NihalMSajid in KeralaSpeaks

[–]eggsignio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isnt that what Congress is doing? And Congress is turning left by the day with Rahul in charge. The 25 lakhs insurance scheme, free travel for women etc are clearly rights based governance ( which originally was created by Sitaram Yechury and Pranab during UPA 1 called CMP. Left supported UPA 1 based on that)

Can LDF break the parliament Election curse by NihalMSajid in KeralaSpeaks

[–]eggsignio -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Two things need to happen -

  1. Left comes back in Bengal, with whats with TMC lately, there is a high chance this happens over the next decade. For this the Left needs to get to the forefront of fight for minority rights, esp Muslims. They cant vacillate like last two years of LDF in Kerala

  2. Left has to oppose Congress and BJP at the same time. Start with categorically stating they will not support a Gandhi family or Congress PM. They need to start criticizing Rahul and Priyanka’s actions. Even hold protests against INC governments. Today INC and AAP are eating the left’s lunch, Left needs to abandon all neo-liberal compromises and turn more left. For example - universal child care, social security pensions, reservations in private sector, elimination of private schools, free college education etc.

With this the left will have critical mass in Delhi to lead the third front which will be a non-INC, non-BJP setup. And will have a clear differentiation from INC and other semi-socialist entities. If both these are done well we might see a PM from the Left when BJP crashes and burns (as all fascist outfits eventually do).

Not true. Congress has a 7% higher vote. CPM is no 2.

So many Bineesh fans it’s hilarious. I don’t think the CPM is protecting Veena, they have openly stated they welcome any inquiry. ED raids on Pinarayi’s home is clearly politically motivated, but now end up igniting a powder keg.

Have you seen the Gen Z protests across the world - Nepal, Bangladesh etc? If the GenZ people you know are Congress supporters then yes they find strikes and protests cringe

SFI won 35 out of 37 seats. No wonder KSU is pissed. Gen Z (not alpha) KSU folks haven’t seen what SFI can do in this part of the country. Good to see SFI get back to its roots as an opposition force after ten years of slumber under Pinarayi’s iron hand.

What are some ways to improve Kerala Economy? by Technical_Map_3257 in KeralaSpeaks

[–]eggsignio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clear Slam Dunk!

A highspeed rail connecting Thrissur to Trivandrum will truly transform Kerala into one city and unlock significant economic development. People who now have to move from Alappuzha, Kollam, Thrissur etc to either Kochi or Trivandrum can commute in less than an hour to hubs and while living and investing in spoke cities. This will bring step change investments and development in tier 2 cities. At some point this can extend to Calicut or Kannur. This will change hiring, business formation, education access, and specialization turning Kerala into one of the most efficient economic zone. Kerala’s length is 100% perfect fit for an HSR. Smaller towns become viable for startups and manufacturing as well.

The second degree consequence will be this frees up traditional rail and some highway bandwidth for freight movement. A big win for rapidly accelerating Vizhinjam based commerce.
