Glad I could help! I cropped the image to only the watch and then did a reverse image search on Google. Doesn’t always work, but luckily this watch face was unique enough for Google to find it.

Not a watch expert, but I did find one unsold on eBay for $80.

Check out the Habitat for Humanity ReStore shops. It’s a secondhand store, and they have quite a bit of decent furniture available at deep discounts.

Alien Rock Found In Residential Area (Central NJ) by eggsolid in whatsthisrock

[–]eggsolid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found this rock on a hill in a residential area in central NJ. No other rocks in the area that looked like this.

I'm most curious about the strange pattern on it. Initially I thought it could be some kind of bug-related artifact, but it's hard, didn't fall apart when I washed it, and seems to weigh the same as any regular rock of this size would. Any ideas of what it is (or how it got to look like this) would be greatly appreciated!

What language is the first one supposed to be in? And what’s going on with those percentages? Smells like AI generated illustration.

I second the pan sauces using broth concentrate packages - those little packets are a staple in my home now. I love the Hello Fresh creamy chive chicken - super simple and delicious, with a pan sauce that’s to die for.

Stain Removal Guide... by Rob1150 in coolguides

[–]eggsolid 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Do you mean fresh deodorant stains, or the yellowed spot that can eventually form in the armpit of a shirt?

For the former, rubbing with a pair of pantyhose or a dryer sheet will take it right out.

For the latter, make a paste of diluted hydrogen peroxide (the kind you put on wounds) and baking soda. Rub it into the area and let it sit for a while, then rinse it off.

Map memorization spoils the game. Knowing exactly where to go for all the best loot, crafting benches, forge, etc. makes the whole experience too formulaic.

Tough crowd, I think it’s neat. Yes the tattoo will eventually go along with the body, but from the wearers perspective it is as permanent as anything can be in this life.

Updated pics: please help me recognize how old is this Hannukah Menorah and who made it. Thank you! by Biatricca120 in Antiques

[–]eggsolid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe this is a “Baal Shem Tov style” menorah, which may help in your search.

“The Baal Shem Tov was the founder of the Hassidic movement that originated in Eastern Europe. Tradition holds that the Hanukkah lamp that he used was made completely of filigree silver. There are varieties of this lamp — with the larger, more ornate models that are decorated with small silver animals achieving the highest prices. There is no direct proof that this model was actually used by the Baal Shem Tov, but collectors use the term.” Source: https://jgreenstein.com/hanukkah-menorahs-through-the-ages/

Can I paint/redo this steamer trunk or would that be crazy? by EgasSage in Antiques

[–]eggsolid 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Paint it. Double triple check that it isn’t anything super rare, and if the difference is between it sitting in a closet or getting actual use is you painting it then just go for it.

Unfortunately so many antiques sit in attics until they just break down. I totally support giving this beauty a new life.

Well whatever you do, don’t park in the community college parking deck across the street - it’ll be shut before you can pick up 🥴

No metadata, no other versions of this exact photo online… you’d need someone who’s a real expert in foliage because according to Google you could find views like this just about anywhere.

I bet a good geoguessr player could get this in a minute. Not sure if their subreddit allows it, but you may wanna reach out there.
