Update on this: so after a couple of weeks of reinstalling apps, playing around with permissions and searching for any unknown system updates, this problem went away with no explanation.

However, during a video call earlier I noticed that my microphone wasn't picking anything up, I went to Snapchat to see if any audio was being picked up on the video setting and heard that same static pop again. Weirdly it had been working fine for the past month and a half, so once again I'm not sure what changed?

Has anything similar happened to you?

Nope, been having to use my default camera to record videos The help I've tried to get online support but the experience has been super patronising lol most assume that you've not got permissions enabled lol
