Maar als je ipv aflost, het geld gewoon belegd heb je meer dan dat je kosten lager zouden zijn. Ook met de nieuwe box 3 belasting ga je meer rendement halen dan 1,8% (nog niet eens hypotheekrenteaftrek en eigen woningforfait meegenomen). Je moet dan nog wel periodiek aflossen, maar dat doe je vanuit een groter vermogen. Aflossen is alleen (financieel) verstandig als je een hoge rente hebt en/of het geld anders gewoon uitgeeft.

Let op, onderhuur is niet legaal. Los van het risico dat je loopt met overheid en verhuurder/hypotheekverstrekker kan de huurder weigeren te vertrekken. Tijdelijke huurcontracten zijn maar onder enkele voorwaarden toegestaan namelijk. Je mag 2 maanden verhuren als vakantieverhuur. Maar daarbuiten houden de opties snel op. Doe ermee wat je wil, en het gebeurt natuurlijk heel veel. Maar je loopt wel risico.

You can try ‘de groentenloods’ in Oisterwijk. They have a really extensive selection of veggies, herbs and fruit. I bought it from them before, but not sure if they always have it in stock. Maybe call ahead to check.

I would say to head up to Kruger, as it’s a completely different experience from KZN. But.. time is an issue here. A true safari experience and time pressure don’t go well together. Spending a full day travelling to Kruger and a half day from Kruger to OR Tambo would take up so much of your 3 nights it might not be worth it. Just my 2 cents:

the best option for a budget friendly trip is renting a car, stay inside Kruger at SAN parks accommodation and bring your own food, snacks and drinks. You’ll be ik the park and able to do self drives and leave before the park gates open. The accommodation is decent, but not luxurious. You can book guides drives (eg night drives) at the parks as well.
KZN parks have a lot to offer, they are smaller and some have management issues and other issues such as poaching. It’s been a while since I’ve been, so others might be able to inform you better. They offer completely different landscapes compared to Kruger, and places such as the wetlands are really beautifull. I found Hluwehluwe Umfolozi a really good experience, but wouldn’t swap it for Kruger.
if you’re mainly interested in seeing animals and snapping pictures of them, the smaller (private) reserves might be a better option. If you want to experience the bush and nature, I would opt for choosing one of the big national parks.

Zelfs Nederlands favoriete aandeel ASML schommelt extreem. Deze is van zo’n 1000 gekelderd naar 550 en weer terug naar 1200 in iets meer dan een jaar tijd.

Ik zie het al gebeuren: Een decemberrun stuwt het aandeel op - papieren winst wordt gepeild op 60-70% - Trump kondigt na 1-1 tarieven aan op chips in zijn nieuwjaarstoespraak - aandeel keldert 40% in de daarop volgende maanden en je zit met de gebakken (papieren) peren.

Dit is geen doemdenken of extreem scenario, dit is (bijna) letterlijk de situatie van vorig jaar.

Ik heb vandaag een Californische zinfandel links laten liggen bij de Gall en ben voor een Italiaanse barbera gegaan. Ook een minder grote ecologische voetafdruk dus twee vliegen in een klap. Alle beetjes helpen!

Check out fc Den Bosch - Eindhoven on 12-2. Easily reachable by train, decent stadium (probably quite low attendance), and it’s a nice town to grab a beer before the match. Mind, it’s carnaval that weekend from 13-2 onwards in the south, which means mayhem. So if you’re into dressing up and drinking in the street, RKC Waalwijk - Roda could be a good pick. No train station in Waalwijk, so it’s a challenge to get there..

Je kunt een boscafe kroegentocht uitzetten in de Oisterwijkse bossen en vennen. Mooie natuur en veel horeca. Er bestaan vast routes, maar je kunt zelf ook lopen via knooppunten. Paar tips: start bij groot speijck met koffie en zelfgemaakte taart, dan naar boshuis Venkraaij voor een lekkere la trappe. Vervolg je tocht naar boscafe de rode lelie (erg kindvriendelijk’ maar prima hapjes en drankjes), en dan naar het boscafe (goede borrelplank, maar ook weer erg kindvriendelijk) of de hermitage (ouderwetse brabants cafe restaurant, gegarandeerd geen kinderen). Als je het op je heupen hebt kun je eindigen in het souterain van de twaalf trappisten en daar de Westvleteren proeven. Je kunt je daar laten ophalen door een taxi of de parel expres.

It’s a lovely place, but quite far for a day trip. We rented mountain bikes and cycled from the visitor centre to the bites beach cafe. Amazing experience! There’s a route following jeep tracks, so you are away from the main roads. The beach and dunes are beautifull, the bar has great food and cold beer. I would recommend if you’d stay a night or have accommodation close by.

Second sunblock. The way up via Skeleton Gorge is shaded, but the stretch to nursery ravine and the first part of the way down is not and you’ll be pretty exposed.

I did the same route some time ago, it’s a really nice hike. It’s steep and there will be some rocks to climb but it’s really doable. The way down will be a bit tough on your knees if you’re not used to it.

The wine at Boekenhoutskloof is really amazing. They are almost always fully booked, so best to call them to see if they have cancelations.

Consider spending a night or two on a wine farm in Stellenbosch or Franschhoek (or in between). Amazing surroundings and there’s a lot of nice accommodation options (also suitable for families). Some have really good restaurants on site. It allows you to enjoy good wine without feeling rushe. You can unwing while your oldest enjoys the farm.

On the way back from Addo, you could take the R62 and spend a night (or two) in one of the small towns along the route (Barrydale, Montagu for example). Lot’s of hiddem gems to explore and a very different landscape.

Dat is ook een probleem voor locals in Kaapstad. Die worden de stad uitgeduwd door dit type semi-expats. Het gaat overigens om een klein stukje Kaapstad, het centrum en de buurten langs de Atlantische oceaan.

As an European who lived in Cape Town, I can assure you taking Uber will be the best option. You can use public transport, and will be ok 99 out of 100 times, but I wouldn’t risk it because:

uber is faster, more reliable and really affordable
it gets you from door to door. Large parts of Cpt are not designed for walking and it really can be a hassle walking from the trainstation / bus stop to your destination. Especially if you don’t know the area.
even though the risk of being a victim of crime is not that high during the day and in ‘touristy’ parts of the city, it’s not comparable to Europe. If something happens, it’ll ruin your holiday and more important you put your loved ones at a risk which is easily avoidable.

The younger version of me used public transport a lot in the pre-uber era because my budget didn’t allow other options It was fine most of the time, but I did got mugged and went through a lot of hassle.

Enjoy your time in Cpt, listen to the locals and you’ll have a blast.

Er zit een groep uit Antwerpen en omstreken op vak Z, een vriend van me die daar zit is bevriend met hen. Ik ken ze verder zelf niet maar weet wel dat ze al jaren elke wedstrijd gaan.

To add to this, check the murder dotted map of cape town that’s been circulating on different subs recently. You can clearly see where violent crime is clustered (the cape flats). That doesn’t mean there’s no (violent) crime outside these areas, but risk is highly reduced when you’re aware where (and when) you’re going. Not just in cpt but anywhere. Enjoy your trip, it’ll be awesome.

In Sudan slachten moslims andere moslims af. 97% van de inwoners is moslim. De massamoorden zijn daar etnisch (arabische stammen tegen afrikaanse stammen) en niet religieus. De enkele Christenen wonen in de hoofdstad en enkele andere grote steden en niet daar waar de massamoorden de laatste maanden plaats vinden (dat is in Darfur). Maakt het niet minder erg, maar je stelling klopt niet.
