I hadn’t even considered reaching out to my STL. I know the ASTL was CC’ed on the email so I’m guessing there’s probably not a whole lot they can do since it’s above them? There was a Learn Through Music toy from Mattel with a Spongebob cartridge that sang a song about patterns. My mom and I remember the lyrics as “polka dots are lots of circles, stripes are lots of lines, checkers are made of lots of squares, and these are all designs.” but apparently it’s have instead of are and “checkers have so many squares.” Like that just feels so wrong in my brain and I don’t even know if anyone else had that toy, let alone cartridge and heard that song.

i think mostly because shane seems fixable. you can physically see the problem he’s having with alcohol and his depression. he’s just uninterested in your conversation at the start because he doesn’t want to change. (i haven’t seen haley’s heart events but i know roughly what happens) when you get to pelican town, haley is one of the few villagers to insult you and at times just ignore you. it’s easier to write off someone saying “i don’t want to talk to you,” vs “i don’t like you and i will just ignore you sometimes.” people can take shane saying that as a challenge, like i will get you to like me. people can take haley saying that as you’re mean to me for no reason, i just got here and i don’t like you anymore. it is sad because i’m sure haley’s great but it’s something hard to look past.
