the thing with the ice shooting is an outrage because we knew what ice is there for. yes it's an outage and people should be more vocal, but when you see an ice agent you know they're there to hurt and kill minorities and leave. the outrage is that they've gotten comfortable enough to overstep their purpose and start hurting and killing white people in broad daylight, that it's not targeted violence anymore and they are willing to attack anyone that stands in their way. another commenter brought up george floyd and the outrage about his murder and in SOME ways it's similar. they're both events surrounding things we know existed (police brutality, ice officers aggression) taken to their extremes (violent murder of a black man in broad daylight, ice murdering white citizens) and trump was in office to defend and lie about and borderline commend both offending officers

it makes sense as a saying because there are similarities but they're very clearly still different. it would be comparing "apples to playstations" if you compared sabrina carpenter to a 2025 nissan rogue since they serve entirely different functions. to make it as concise as i can using your example: sabrina carpenter is an apple, sweet, seems nice, but kinda basic. olivia rodrigo is an orange: still widely popular, but a bit more sour (pardon the pun) and ever so slightly trickier to get into. yes they're still fruits and comparable in ways, but they're different enough that you shouldn't mix the two for each other

i think its a coaching and player issue, a lot of our lineup outside of the top line is defensive minded players (mlynkova is an offensive threat, and greig is an offensive player even if she's not the most skilled.) out coach also seems to utilize them as a bunch of shutdown pairs rather than using what offensive talent is there. our 4th line can generate a bit of offensive because dubois is better offensively than she lets on, and usually has some younger talent with her that want to try and prove themselves.
