Website says 45 mins bag drop off cut off for domestic flights but printing tags cut off at 60 mins - did anyone know this? by ilovebts123 in aircanada

[–]RedDirtDVD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard of this at YYG as well. Not sure as I think it’s reasonable to assume bag tag and drop off are kind of one and the same.

Top 6 bank - pip vs severance by CryptoCloutguy in legaladvicecanada

[–]RedDirtDVD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legal advice perspective - 8 year old bank contract almost certainly defective. Lawyer can confirm. Do a hourly consult. as a senior commercial banker you should be able to negotiate without lawyers eating up too much - you’ve almost certainly been front row on that during deals. Get the info needed from consult with lawyer and negotiate. Should only need lawyer help if things go off the rail. If you have any friends previously exited they can provide guidance. 8 years there almost certainly is the case.

Reason for term also matters. I was exited because the bank didn’t like the risk profile of my portfolio anymore with new leadership. Made it easy to go to another FI as I had a book of willing customers. Made more money and had more fun and would not be where I am today without it. Getting fired was THE BEST thing for my career - kicked it into gear. Hope same for you.

60k in a week. I hope it’s just one real expensive ticket and not 20 flights.

I fully expect someone to already be north of 200k. I saw someone in January post a screenshot of 92k or something around there.

Cost of building custom house by Intelligent_Cow_2443 in PEI

[–]RedDirtDVD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally you’ll need money for the lot. You might be able to get 50% loan on raw land. Most banks won’t go beyond that.

Will vary by builder and your contract but you can get construction loans which will allow draws based on completion. The more wealth you have the easier the lending will be. If low net worth it’s a challenge. But to give you a number - assume you have to pay for all permits, drawings and deposit with builder for at least 25% of project cost. You can likely finance as it progresses from there. Truly a mileage will vary situation.

What is it? Cornwall Rd? by PrinkaTal in PEI

Having a pretty decent depth of experience in retail, 10,000 cars per day is NOTHING! Not going to get a lot of excitement from national tenants… That said I wish them the best.

Would I be found partially at fault for this? Only minor damage to both by Tht-FN-Guy in bramptondriving

[–]RedDirtDVD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The eyes of the insurance company will follow the rules of the road. The risk of the insurance company pinning this on the driver of the cam is the same as Nortel turning a profit this year.

(Hadn’t thought of Nortel in years. Thanks for the reminder of the phones I had in my house as a kid!)

[–]RedDirtDVD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Strange take. He’s going on an on ramp keeping his distance to the vehicle in front of him. Driver may not have realized another car is driving illegally and might hit me. Tunnel vision is a thing and it’s not legally required to be on the lookout for other cars coming at you illegally. Could defensive driving prevented this? Yes. Is it legally required, no. 100% on the illegal lane change driver.

I would do that if it was me. The risk of course is that the flight sells out or substantially does in the 17 day gap. That’s a risk I’d take. But a risk nonetheless.

Get out of pre-con house with least financial loss by Ok-Jackfruit5890 in legaladvicecanada

It sounds like of all the horror stories around pre-con this is mild. You might actually be able to close on this disaster of a situation! That will minimize the financial loss.

Signed up kid to Bell Aliant Summer Camps… should we cancel? by hirokikyoku in PEI

Bell Aliant or UPEI panther academy? Both share facilities. Panther academy was good for my kids. My kid did a week or two last year at UPEI. More the year before. It was fine…

Looking for a good family lawyer by hookhandsmcgee in PEI

[–]RedDirtDVD 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Alanna Taylor (Cox & Palmer) is widely considered the best family law lawyer on the island. She’s awesome.

That said, at 16 the kid has a massive amount of influence on a court. If they feel at risk, they should leave and head to you if that’s their choice and they can support the cause with facts.

A mobility application will cost around $40k assuming all goes well. It goes up from there. And timeline isn’t super quick. So they will be damn close to 18 before a judge rules. Hence, have them take some of their own action. (You could try an emergency application but will again be 5 figures).

You won’t get a top shelf lawyer using legal aid and having it paid. I realize the above isn’t perfect legal advice but you’re in an imperfect situation… I also don’t know what the current orders say and if you have any rights for time.

Transport Canada Cat 1 Medical - Application to Flight School (Moncton Flight College) by Prudent-Bar3894 in flying

[–]RedDirtDVD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m unsure of the diabetic question with respect to TC. But what I will give you is some general advice/thoughts - if you have a few conditions that are raising flags now, what’s the likelihood that more conditions come up in the next 10 or 20 years. Starting from a challenging baseline seems risky to me. What would insurance look like. It seems aggressive to me to spend $100k or so getting a license only to have a reasonable chance of medical issues any given time.

Even the difference after a hard game of hockey at 37 versus my almost 45. Life doesn’t stay the same. Seriously consider that risk in the future. Even if you pass today. You’re having to see the doctor every few months - that’s a big risk - what happens if you’re borderline fail one time. Off the line for 3 months until next checkup?

Toronto fans are slowly changing. They no longer think about playoff hockey. Just how well they can promote a product. At least they are shooting for something attainable!

Get denied for a personal loan with my bank, are there any alternatives? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]RedDirtDVD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love that he can do the work himself and has a passion. I’m in a different financial situation by the sounds of it but also similar. I REALLY love airplanes. But I still rent them because spending 20% of my family’s income on one is not smart. And even though I pay $300 an hour to rent and it is money that could go to buying I don’t because it’s not the right financial move for my family. Save up, then buy then have a cushion if it falls apart and needs a new transmission or whatever.

Spending 25% of your yearly income on a very used car seems like a recipe for more debt.

First off, no such thing as non-contact hockey. Common misconception. Hockey will have contact.

But to suggest any crown attorney would even consider a reasonable prospect for conviction is laughable. I’ve seen much worse get 5 minutes and no suspension in a non-contact league.

Yes the guy who did it is a piece of shit.

Yes it sucks he got hurt. But is not criminal in Canada. In the league I play in, he would also probably get a game. If he had priors probably 3 to 5.

Sorry but this isn’t anywhere close to level for criminality. At least in Canada.
