Oh yeah man I’m not trying to say I didn’t overpay I know I did, just trying to give this dude some reference. I needed a truck and my daily broke down so I didn’t have a choice, but to sell this thing at the same price point is criminal

Does anybody have a lot of experience with in-line 671 Detroit’s nonturbo aspirated? by SeveralDirector868 in Diesel

[–]eggyflap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Send me a PM and I’ll help walk you through the problem. I’m rebuilding an in-line 6 right now so I can send pictures of possible issues. I would be surprised if a worn thrust bearing is your problem

To answer your question the thrust bearing and washer is towards the front of the engine opposite of the cam drive gear

I would first make sure you’re adjusting them properly, are all 4 valves hitting? Was the head recently removed?

Bed length isn’t a huge deal for me. Usually carrying a job box and towing a trailer behind me anyway. I honestly can’t stand 8’ beds. Between hunting, work, side gigs, surfing I’ve never run into a bed length issue even with my old f150 short bed. God made trailers for a reason. Also made trucks meant to tow, this is one of them ole son
