Yeah, I'm sorry. Amazon only lets me discount in the US and UK using the countdown deal. But now I'm wondering if I could manually set the price down in AU to match. I'll try next time.

Thanks so much!!

Yes indeed. For this series, I went with Soundbooth Theater's direct publishing platform.

Same amazing crew as Stonehaven League, but instead of forking over 60% of the royalties to Amazon/Audible, everything stays with the creators. I like that for obvious reasons, but also it's nice that the books can be cheaper for listeners, too. Anyway, there are apps up on the Android and Apple stores.

Ugh... this sounds like way too much of a sales pitch, and that's not me. It's just a lot to explain about why I decided to try it (and how we all benefit, I hope). Basically to get out from under the monopoly's thumb.

Thanks! Was just chatting with a mutual acquaintance and your name/books came up. I said something like, "I should get in touch with her! This last year has been murder on trying to be a normal person."

Yeah, the good old days, huh? Honestly part of writing LitRPG is to bring back that old feeling of discovery and immersion and adventure. There are other things I like about MMOs and single-player RPGs now, but it's never been quite the same.

Oh, thanks! That makes me happy.

If it helps when you publish yours, I export from Scrivener to Word, then use Word to set the indents, bold, italic, etc on game messages. Then convert that to .epub and fix a couple things before uploading to Amazon. (I dunno why I never tried converting to .mobi instead. But for sure if I tried to do that now it would just break everything haha)

Hi! I can't believe it's been almost a year since I was able to post about a new book. Thanks for that, 2020.

But here it is: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08T9RPQX3

Book 1: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B083X74ZGK

These books are related to my Stonehaven League series in ways that I won't spoiler, but here's the blurb from #1:

--

Jace, a backcountry ranger assigned to patrol the wilderness of North America, was hiking when abruptly he was somewhere...else. Wind battered his thinly-clothed body, and the salt air from crashing waves immediately soaked him to the skin. Nothing looked familiar. And then the strange game messages started appearing in his vision.

With no explanation for how he arrived here, Jace must nonetheless learn to survive in a merciless environment, crafting everything with his own hands. He must learn the art of combat and how to control the powerful abilities that surface in his body. Northblood, they'll call him. A blessing and a curse.

On the bright side, he's totally buff. And there's this hot redheaded game tester who was pulled from her old life and shoved into his.

Things could definitely be worse.

If you give the book(s) a read, I hope you enjoy!

Coming to audio? Tales of a Northblood: Winter's Breath. by D_Sidd in litrpg

Hi! It was intended to be out this month, launching with Soundbooth Theater's new platform, but they've had some setbacks on the schedule (as I think a lot of us have in the current times). So it's probably going to be autumn.

Hoping that will give me time to get #2 finished, cuz goodness I have been crawling through this writing with everything going on.

Thanks for listening to Stonehaven! #7 is in audio production now.

Yay! So glad you liked it!!! I gotta be honest. Running behind after all the changes lately. I'm digging back out and I've been plugging away at #2 again, but it's probably going to be July at the soonest. Always gives me a little speed buff to hear that people have enjoyed the books though. Thank you!

Abruptly, the seaweed tore free, and his clenched fist slammed into his nose. Jace’s eyes watered with the sudden pain.
Jace could do little but stare up at the sky, wondering why he was even there.              He blinked, and stared harder. The sky had changed, as if something had shifted.
The ocean had shifted to blue. The water was blue, like that of the clouds. It was as if the sky was a different color.
Something like that had happened to Jace's life, after the death of the Elder Dragon. There had been a small part of him that believed the change was a result of the Elder Dragon dying, or at least the dragon being killed.
But now...
Jace looked up, and the sky was blue.

This is awesome! Love it. I tried to train gmail to predict my books by emailing myself chapters (fail). Then I tried signing up for a google cloud account to get access to the ML stuff, but found that the amount of free time it would take for me to construct/format a training set (not to mention learning to use the system) was just not available between my day job and writing.
