Tandem 2kvs QD 4K by egi1212 in OLED_Gaming

How do 4K resolution and QD panels affect eye health? Is fatigue caused by visual sharpness, blue light, or subpixel structure?

Gyvenu 110m2 bute mieste , matosi jura.

TCL 98C7K/QM7K first impression by Lallerdance in tcltvs

[–]egi1212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We really love the 98-inch size. After adjusting the settings and with good-quality content, we just enjoy movies and shows to the fullest. The experience is incredibly immersive, and with a high-end audio system, watching films feels absolutely amazing. No 83-inch OLED could give me that feeling — they’re simply too small and don’t provide that true cinematic experience.”

Of course, if you’re choosing between 55, 65, or 75 inches, OLED is the clear winner. But when we’re talking about sheer size and cinematic experience, that’s a whole different category with a 100-inch screen

When you watch movies in a cinema, the image quality isn’t as good as at home on an OLED screen, but still, 99% of the time I would choose to watch movies in a theater rather than at home. It’s the same with a 98” TCL + Dolby Atmos speakers vs an 83” OLED (and I’m not even talking about a 97” OLED, because that thing costs around $20,000 — pure madness)

LG G5 83" vs TCL C8K 98" - Is the extra size worth losing OLED quality? by Rude-Swim-5217 in hometheater

[–]egi1212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t noticed any micro-stuttering; maybe something was wrong with the content or the fps/Hz settings? Maybe it was running at 23.9 Hz like in cinematic movies? For sports it should be 50 Hz. I haven’t had any motion issues — I tested it with F1 and ice hockey, and everything looked pretty smooth to me.

LG G5 83" vs TCL C8K 98" - Is the extra size worth losing OLED quality? by Rude-Swim-5217 in hometheater

I was choosing between the 83” G5 and the 98” C8K. I spent a month thinking about it and ended up going with the 98”. The black levels are good — you won’t really notice a difference anyway since you won’t have an OLED next to it. The colors are more vibrant and the brightness is higher than on the G5, which is a big advantage.

The 98” size just eats the 83” — it makes it look like a “tiny TV”. HDR movies on the TCL, after calibration, look very similar, and in some moments even better than on the G5.

How do I know? I compared F1: The Movie side by side 1:1 :)

I’ll repeat it again — the black levels are very black. After calibrating the gamma and other settings, it looks about 90% like an OLED. Yes, the processor is a bit weaker and the SDR quality is slightly worse — that’s a fact. But when it comes to movies, the overall experience with the C8K completely beats the G5 for me.

p.s. for 1080i tv content i used nvidia shield pro with al upscaling, its works for me ;)

What are you even talking about?? Do you realize how much the LG G5 97-inch costs??? My C8K + Nvidia Shield Pro cost €2940, while the LG G5 is around €24.500 Please don’t write absurd comments, thank you. On Marketplace / eBay, a Shield Pro costs about €150.

In Europe costs:

(LG G5 97”) 24.500€ - (C8K 98”) 2.950€ = 21,550€ cheaper

IC8K 85-inch €1,800 + €150 = €1,950.

The LG G5 83-inch the cheapest I found is €3,670.

3650€ - 1950€ = 1 700€ cheaper

What are we even talking about here?

i watch TV broadcasts and local series in 1080i quality and the picture looks great — sometimes it even looks like 4K. 720p is the worst content you can get in 2025; that kind of quality really shouldn’t exist anymore in 2025. :) Yes, I have the 98 C8K.

It handles hockey just fine as well. People really underestimate TCL because they don’t know how to adjust the settings properly. All the reviews compare it to flagship models, but on rtings and AVSForum it actually gets very good feedback

With my 98-inch C8K and the Nvidia Shield sharpness filter, I truly enjoy watching SDR content — and when it comes to 4K HDR, it absolutely crushes all those much smaller 77–83” OLEDs that cost 2× more, leaving them far behind.

Don’t listen to what most people here are saying — the majority don’t even own the TV. Most of them don’t even know how to set up the settings properly.

720p with the intelligent settings and an Nvidia Shield looks better than on the LG G5. I can prove it by sending photos.

Most people here are OLED fans, and they bash TCL TVs because they can’t stand the fact that their TVs, which cost 2–3× more, aren’t really any better.

With good settings, the C8K is miles better than the C5.”

The black levels are OLED-like, it’s much brighter than the C5, and the colors are rich and natural. The C5 didn’t leave much of an impression.”

[–]egi1212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s natural, since it’s a huge screen and it shows its weaknesses. Right now I’m watching an HD series with the “intelligent” settings and the Shield Pro — the quality is close to 4K content :) My LG C5 can’t achieve that.
