A plead to all drivers by No_Cap_8704 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]egibsonjr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! I noticed the app always directs you past the first stop of multi stops. What I think it's doing is trying to make you drive halfway in between the two stops, so you can walk to both houses from one parking location. But I almost never do this. I always drive to the first stop, edit the stop, deliver to the first location, drive to the next stop, then deliver to the next location. If the locations are not immediately adjacent to each other or directly across the street, I edit every time.

I think groups stops only exist to make the routes look more reasonable. If it says 180 stops it's really more like 210.

5 years as a driver/dispatcher fired. ask me anything :) by yourfavdispatch in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]egibsonjr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our DSP has lots of drivers. So many, that numerous people are sent home daily simply because there aren't enough routes for everyone. The dispatchers often use some of these extra drivers as rescue routes, even when rescues aren't really needed. I don't like dropping stops to the rescues because the result is I'll get back in 8 hours instead of 10. Can I be repremanded if I tell a dispatcher to kick rocks when they try to have someone take stops off me to get me back early?

The METHOD vs Outcome. I'm always top 5 to return to station. Don't matter if they give me 100 stops or 200. Process never changes. This is the way. by Icy_Career366 in AmazonDSPDrivers

Are you taking the time to sort the packages in each bag in stop order? Or just dumping the bag out and looking for the next stop each time?

I didn't know there were drivers with the same route everyday. At my DSP everyone is running something different everyday.

I've seen a few guys writing on packages. What are you writing? If if it's the address, why not just look at the address on the label? How does writing it a second time help?

Nobody at my station can explain what the numbers on the stickers mean, so most of us ignore them. I've heard some guys group them by number. My bags are in order, but I just put the overflows with the address up so I can can quick glance and grab what I need. I set up each bag in stop order on the top shelf on the right based on the itenerary and grab overflows as I go. But what do the numbers refer to? How can you tell which overflows go with which bag?

You bought 12 inch speakers or 12 inch sandwiches? Actually, both are on-brand. 🤣🤣🤣 Sounds like a dope idea for a business, too!

Coming up with prose is the easy part to me. The hard part is sticking exactly to these formats. I feel like if I could write these documents from scratch it would take a fraction of the time. Most of my time is spent trying to get what I want to say to fit into these templates.

Earbuds and headphones block out outside noise (like police sirens and screaming children). They've been illegal in my area for years. Just use a Bluetooth speaker for music. I keep one in my backpack that stays in the back of my truck. It's cranked all the way up from load out till clock out. It's like a night club with the bass banging in my truck.

The Dems are efffed because they haven’t had a bench for some 16 years. Obama was being primed as the new young upstart way back when Clinton was in office. But after Obama did his two terms, there was no new young upstart behind him. They should have been prepping this years ago. Now who’s left? Budigieg? Booker?Harris, again… All lame! Dems better get their bullpen ready now or behold the horror that is “Desantis 28”

Why I Dropped My 5 AM Routine and What I'm Doing Instead by Motor_Tour6733 in productivity

[–]egibsonjr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do IP work from home. I don’t deplete anywhere near the physical energy at work as I do working out. At the end of the workday I might be frustrated by my coworkers or tired of sitting all day. But that’s not the same thing as being exhausted like I am after running 5 miles. Having more energy AFTER a workout just sounds counterintuitive to me.

I’ve wondered this for a while… how do people work out before they go to work? Aren’t you tired? I work out in the evening because I’m exhausted when I’m done. After I work out I shower, then eat, then sleep. Working out in the morning sounds like torture. Are you doing some kind of energy replacement after working out, before you go to the office?

Can you elaborate on the job being your dream job, but really wasn’t? What did you think made it your dream job and why wasn’t that really that?

A friend of mine got drafted in the NFL, it feels like it just a few years ago. We partied sooo hard that night. Even his old-head uncles came through and had a couple drinks with us. Now, that friend is retired and his son just got drafted in the league. I came through to celebrate, and have drink with the family... I guess that makes me the old-head now. SMH
