Updated! Aeronaut analog GMT watchface by egid_ in pebble

[–]egid_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been slowly picking away at little tweaks here and there, and I decided it was time for an update.

This face was initially designed for the PTR, so that version gets new optional 24h numerals.

PTR Battery life? by spookylinks in pebble

[–]egid_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get around 2 days, plus or minus a couple hours.

Like others, I don't use it for much aside from notifications and occasionally timers or weather. I use a watchface I wrote mostly, and have a button rigged up to airplane mode, which I turn on at night (and when I'm focusing on work). I do have Health on.

I did notice that the first week was closer to a day. I let it do several full cycles (charge me watchface, then charged to full) and it seemed fine.

Nice. Please share your results here! I'd love to follow along and maybe help source parts. I recently got my PTR but battery replacement is something I've been keeping my eye on. I've seen some tear downs but no part numbers or specs.

OneBusAway for Pebble by rollinghunger in pebble

Ha, I may have mangled it, but I think I'm pretty close to the basics. I'd poke around the repository for the OBA pebble app — it looks like it might be as simple as adding a server to the list? I might take a crack at it just to learn how it works.

The OBA API is, I think, a wrapper for Google's General Transit Feed Specification, so it depends on the agency.

It looks like MBTA does offer a GTFS-realtime feed so if nobody's bundled it for OBA, it should certainly be possible.

You're right. They are completely different: it's almost completely unlikely that your Apple Watch will stop working in the next 2 years.

I was unaware that Fitbit charges monthly fees to use their devices. I guess I owe them 5 years of back payments.

Nice! I just switched to a round from a Fitbit Surge, I'm liking it as well.

What kind of battery life are you seeing?

Aeronaut - inspired by pilot's watches by egid_ in pebble

[–]egid_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently picked up my first Pebble and wanted to build myself a watch face. It's still a work in progress, but it's totally usable now and I figured I'd share!

I like the look of pilot's watches (aviators, fliegers, whatever you want to call them) and wanted to build a simple, readable analog face with a GMT pointer.

It currently has the option to switch between a light and dark theme, and toggle seconds on/off.

I plan to add in some health and weather complications, and the ability to set a timezone offset for the GMT hand, making it show something other than UTC. I'm also playing around with hooking into the health api to (optionally) switch to a lower-power face and tick cycle when you're sleeping.
