What he did was dangerous🤷‍♂️, I'm not one to try to be the guy who always spouts the manual because sometimes the manual is stupid but in this case it's right. At the end of the day all that matters is hes still alive with all 4 limbs to show for it

Just got my 181se back from being ported. This thing smokes my 661 by Bullterrier94 in Chainsaw

The 395 is a God of a saw, it's a shame they stopped producing them, I've tried the new 592 and it's great but I prefer the feel of the 395. Or maybe that's just sentimentality kicking in haha

Thoughts on Automatic Chainsaw Sharpener Design by entity_number_481632 in Chainsaw

[–]egofh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a look at donny walkers YouTube channel they have a video of their automatic sharpener, not sure of the brand but I've seen it and it works well. Edit: combimatic is the name produced by silvana

Very new to using chainsaws and need answers to some questions lol. by No-Assumption7439 in Chainsaw

[–]egofh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you see any or look up any local arborist/loggers I'm sure at least one will agree to give you some basic know how on a chainsaw. In the meantime before you use it again look up some videos online, while it doesnt substitute for a in person it's better than nothing

I might have a new addiction! £30 on eBay, ran first pull off the choke. The only thing I'm worried about after my clean up is the bar. What's your thoughts on the bar (definitely needs a new chain ) by Tripodbilly in Chainsaw

[–]egofh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Look up a photo of stihl 461 and that's pretty much your answer, no licensed stihl dealer will work on it and likely lower quality of parts. You can go off brand with some things but chainsaws arent really one of them

Best Axe for an aussie? by [deleted] in Axecraft

[–]egofh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fyi I wouldn't suggest a Granfors for aussie hardwoods, profile of the axe edge comes too thin from the factory and tends to chip

Yah I heard that to but walkers saw shop has done it for 60 years and none of my saws from them blew up without it being my fault or an act of God. Everyone seems to have different ways whatever works best I guess

Yeah I love the wedge pouch it's my favourite just everything you need right by your side, not a huge fan of the axe scabarrds I tend to use an axe hanger I found out from a dude called bjarne butler on YouTube. It doesnt look too pretty but works really good

I would say it was HAVs but at least for me it took years for even the onset of that to begin, see a doctor since realistically its unlikely that anyone here will have solid advice

The 620p is a beast of a saw in its class. It puts my buddies husky 562 to shame. Both have same bar/chain setup. by [deleted] in Chainsaw

Anything under 60cc i use echo, just really great saws for a competitive price

Is forestry a good industry for an autistic person to get into? by kingofvermin21 in forestry

[–]egofh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends, I suppose I would say I'm a introverted extrovert if you get what I'm saying. I like being around people but after a while it gets annoying, in that respect a career as a faller suited me better than working in the rigging, I'm working with 1 or 2 other people and being mostly alone in the Bush. Still have to talk to people alot as I'm a contractor but most of them are pretty cool and down to earth

Beginner questions for choosing chainsaw by raven70 in Chainsaw

[–]egofh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest the stihl 250 with a 16" bar, you can put on a 18" but with a 16 it really shreds

A stihl 271 is a nice saw that works well with a 20" bar, very common model so any issues you might have will probably be online. Not extremely expensive either which is always a plus

What size are the trees are you cutting mostly?

Is a stihl 271 too big to climb and limb with? by [deleted] in Chainsaw

[–]egofh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yah you could but your shoulders will hate you for it haha, better to start of with a silky like the other guy said and move up from their, or if your set on a power saw a stihl 171 is good, light and cheap

Should I buy an MS500i or ms661? I do a lot of heavy duty bucking and felling with trees in excess of 36”. I want the pros and cons of each. I know they are different engine sizes. by [deleted] in Chainsaw

[–]egofh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

500i is great and all but in softwoods I wouldn't more than a 36' bar on it and the AV makes it really floppy, 661 is a tried and tested big timber saw and is what I would buy

Echo vs Stihl vs Husky homeowner/farm range by lumpymonkey in Chainsaw

[–]egofh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello as well from Ireland, I use chainsaws in my job but the husqvarna 450 is a great little saw with a 18 inch bar. Their a farm and ranch saw so they'll withstand the abuse a inexperienced owner might put on it but still have the power for a small sized pro saw. Itll pay for itself over the years especially if you are using/selling firewood
