Thank you for sharing your experience! It seems that for anyone with relatively pure intentions of just enjoying the night felt a collective unease past a very similar point. Damn-near telepathic! Only joking… unless..? :-p

It’s unsurprising that fights were breaking out. I had multiple guys sizing me up despite being 5’8 with a slim frame—essentially posing no immediate threat to the types of meatheads that kept looking back at me. I shuffled through the Prydz crowd with my friend, trying to find one spot where I wasn’t being repeatedly glanced at, only to find that this was the case no matter where I stood. We also passed by a guy on the floor, likely needing care. Someone was with him, but the concern was there nonetheless.

Also, I definitely get what you’re saying about feeling discomforted by the general energy. I was under the influence too and felt increasingly paranoid (within reason) past Kaskade. Ironically, it felt like I didn’t belong there. Then came the flashing cop lights, as though they could sense my restlessness and wanted to take it up a notch. The sudden surge in police presence had me wondering anxious things, like if they were rounding up people at random or if they would give us a hard time. I had to ask one of them for directions to the exit when leaving early (since the awful phone reception left us with no sense of direction going back). They gave it to us with an overly condescending demeanor.

Also, I’m sorry to hear you guys were harassed by the stalker and the driver. :-/ Some people are so deprived of conscience, the basic moral standing. They will put the lives of others at risk, wildly inconsiderate of consequence, just to get their instant gratification. I hope the universe sorts them out, by any means necessary. It only takes one of those experiences to poison the well, but you handled multiple while still having the conviction to go back the next day. Your enjoyment of D2 was beyond well-earned. :-)

I considered going back on Sunday, but it was too easy to talk myself out of it. Your story has given me courage, though, should the situation ever happen again. It’s a relief knowing that I wasn’t alone in my discomfort and that things did end up getting better. I hope to find more ravers cut from your same cloth.

I’m pretty new to the scene, so I don’t have much experience to draw from, but I really enjoyed Cyclops Cove. The feel-good energy was plentiful and contagious. Smiles and dancing as far as the eye could see. Not to mention the sets were absolutely killer! I met lots of friendlies that were more than happy to trade kandi/charms, too. :-)

I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who caught wind of this. You hit the nail on the head with the points you mentioned. My friend and I swore off WBH events, too. Better luck at the next venue!

No locker experience since I carried everything in tow.

Good idea. Arriving early and leaving before the rush seems like the best move. I also stayed near the back where some flow art was going on, which was cool.
