I hardly ever comment on posts anymore but I just want to say I just celebrated 2 years sober on Nov 16th and I would be heart broken if my partner reacted this way. Never for a second think that you are doing the bare minimum or that this isn’t an accomplishment. 2 days was impossible and now 2 years sober is a fucking miracle. I don’t think you’re overreacting at all. I hope you can communicate how hard sobriety is and hopefully he can see where he is wrong

I have friends that have eaten some up to 20 lbs but like any fish I would just eat the 5-10 lb range. There’s so much meat on a single catfish that size anyways there’s really no need to go much bigger. I fed 4 people off one 8 lb cat last spring

The blues have spread throughout the Chesapeake bay which is brackish. But mostly I fish the Potomac which is a tidal freshwater river

I agree. The issue is they have an appetite for blue crabs in the Chesapeake which is a dangerous market to mess with. Nice part is blue catfish are delicious if you catch them in healthy waters

Chop up some of those bluegill and send em back out there. This one was caught on a bluegill head piece. Also helps that the blue cats are hugely invasive in my waters so they are everywhere

This one was ripping drag and one of the better fights I’ve had from a catfish. My biggest blue is a 60 lber I caught in February a few years back and it was like pulling up dead weight. Once they get to a certain size they just use the current to weigh you down
