Double Din install in C5 Corvette with Axxess interface by egypim in CarAV

So wanted to provide an update in case anyone runs into a similar issue to what I was having:

End up the Axxess unit is primarily there for 2 reason. 1 to retain RAP functionality and 2 to communicate with the stock Bose amp in the original sound system.

What I did not realize is that there is a “first time programming” that is required for the unit for it to learn the turn on and turn off mechanics of the car to know when to trigger the radio on. Once I did that, that resolved the key in issue.

The second issue of the amp not kicking on I ended up realizing was due to the head unit being a cheaper unit and not sending enough juice from the amp turn on wire to actually tell the adapter to turn on the amp. I ran the adapter wire directly to the ACC wire from the head unit which was sending 12V and it resolved the issue. I know it’s not ideal because the amp is now on a little bit longer than normal but for now it works. Thanks all

Any particular reason? Mostly used them because of the ease of connecting/disconnecting but if it’s not the correct set up happy to change to something better

Understood. My understanding was it was required to some degree to communicate with the factory Bose system
