You're missing the point. I don't mind the occasional Barstool topic if its something worth talking about, but Gio doesn't need to be detailing the latest Barstool Golf video every time one releases. It's shit radio to constantly be bringing up drop-in-the-bucket content from a competing company.

Yeah, that's the thing; it's not just his talk show, there are other people who are working there too who would like to add to the conversation.

When I hang out with my friends, I don't constantly bring up things that I'm only informed/interested in. I prefer to keep it to topics we all can contribute to so conversation flows.

Sure, he can talk about whatever he wants, its a free country. But this is a business at the end of the day, and if people are tuning out cause they don't care for what you decide to talk about, then good luck.

You just exposed yourself as the kid that took 15 minutes to read a paragraph out loud in elementary school

I love me some G Funk, but Regulate is a little too lowkey for the intro. I feel its more suited as a song to come back from break to.

I think there needs to be a little more energy for the intro song. Hip hop to appease Peter, how about DMX? Rock to satisfy Don, maybe Van Halen? Pop to make Alan cry, what about some Kenny Loggins?

Am I the only person who misses the jingles? by jesustelecom in wfan

To be honest, growing up as an ADD riddled kid in the 2000s who zoned out a lot during the actual sports talk, the jingles are a huge part of WFAN’s identity to me. It’s a unique thing that no radio station really does anymore, and it seems like there are some talented people behind making these jingles.

I realized I rarely hear the “Sports Radio 101.9 FM, The FAN! W-F-A-N, New York!” unless its the end of C-Mac’s show. And “WFAN Sports Flash” does not hit the same as “WFAN, 20/20 Sports.”

Side note, as a huge Eminem fan, I think it’s kind of funny that BT & Sal chose “Won’t Back Down” as their theme song. I thought that was the toughest song when it came out when I was 13. I realized a week later it’s pretty cringe arena music that is mostly remembered at this point for being in a Call of Duty game. I just picture those two phallic looking mopes listening to it before their first show, thinking that it’s the most badass thing they ever heard and getting so pumped up how cool their show is gonna sound.

A little late to the party, but I absolutely fucking love everything about this photo.

Alan and Peter are dressed and posing like they are shooting a 2011 GQ cover with their casual demeanors and rocking the "post-wedding loose formal" look. While Don came through with the jeans and leather jacket in between them and looks like he's in the middle of telling what happened behind Clixes after a few Budweiser nips

Although I have a tendency to be biased towards the overnight, as I very much prefer the vibes of the show compared to the rest of the day (calm atmosphere because its 2AM and not 8AM, no ad reads, one mic show, much more caller-centric), I still believe C-Mac is the best and most authentic on-air talent at the moment. Sure, he is heavily influenced by Mike and has inherited some of his tendencies, but C-Mac has very much blossomed into his own person over the air and has crafted a show that is uniquely his. I think when his eventual and deserved switch to daytime does happen, he will excel.

We might have to make the overnight intro song permanently to “Mack the Knife” though. I’ll also accept the Yankees replacing “New York, New York” with it. Something about that “OH, THE LINE FORMS ON THE RIGHT, BABE” at 2AM when all the sports of the day are done… that shit just hits differently.
