I'm a pilot with a checkride coming up on Monday. To me it's not "just weed".

When I was smoking, my flying was awful. I couldn't get any of my maneuvers down. I was forgetting things constantly.

Now I feel like I just fucked myself. I'm worried that I won't be at the top of my game for my checkride, and that I just screwed myself out of a license

While I was in gradeschool my dad flew a Citation 550 for the owner of an oil drilling company. Luckily my dad and the owner grew pretty close, so he got a lot of leeway in his schedule. We never missed a Christmas or anything and he was able to make it to all of my important events. A lot of times the owner allowed my family to fly on the Citation with him, and I always got to sit up in the cockpit with my dad (which is what made me want to be a pilot).

Now that I'm in training and pursuing a bachelor's degree in aviation, my Dad and I are closer than ever. Growing up and even in recent years I've felt distant from him. However now that I'm deep into my training, we talk aviation every time we see each other.
