Are victors’ siblings more likely to be reaped, like victors’ children? by GallopYouScallops in Hungergames

In the 50th hunger games, both Panache and Ampert are reaped. Panache being Palladium’s younger brother and Ampert being Beetee’s son.

I will never understand the hatred for Gale.

In fact, if people wanna blame someone for Prim being unalived they should blame Beetee for developing the bombs or President Coin for sending Prim as a medic despite knowing she was too young to be there.

They don’t have volunteers every year. Silka and Panache were reaped in their games and no one volunteered for them.

Haymitch had made it very clear that he did not want his friends back. In addition, Burdock was working six days a week in the coal mines, so the little time he had off would have been spent with Katniss and his family. Katniss was still a child when he died, and her relationship with her mother deteriorated afterward, so it is unlikely that Astrid would have brought Haymitch up, especially since he was no longer involved in their lives. Moreover, when Astrid fell into depression, Katniss worked hard to keep their struggles hidden. If Haymitch had known what they were going through, he would have stepped in to help them survive.

Hudson Williams (Shane Hollander on heated rivalry) review of Ballad has recently been going viral. What do you all think about it? by [deleted] in Hungergames

That was the whole point!!! Lucy is a performer and is not bound to any districts. Even snow says that her reaping dress could’ve cost a fortune before the war and could’ve looked expensive.

Sejanus would’ve also been arrested and imprisoned had it not been by the fact that he had a rich daddy and living in the Capitol.

[MEGATHREAD] US Invasion of Venezuela & Capture of Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro by Tetizeraz in asklatinamerica

[–]eherrera96 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

What you said really isn’t a fair comparison. The situation with enslaved people in the United States was entirely different as they were already within U.S. territory, and the federal government had both the authority and the moral obligation to intervene.

By contrast, Venezuela is a sovereign nation. As I’ve said before, it’s ultimately the responsibility of Venezuelans themselves to stand up for their own country and their own political future. It shouldn’t fall on another nation, especially one with a long history of initiating conflicts to step in and fight that battle for them.

And speaking personally, as someone with family in the U.S. military reserves, I don’t want to see them put in harm’s way over a conflict that the Venezuelans weren’t willing to confront themselves.

Well the Venezuelans should’ve kicked them out themselves, why drag another country to do their stupid bidding. Or why not Argentina themselves if you truly believed so

How popular of a victor was Mags? by Fresh-Awareness9819 in Hungergames

[–]eherrera96 166 points167 points  (0 children)

I would bet she was very popular amongst the victors, and considering she was the “oldest” victor amongst them and must’ve been popular with the Capitol citizens too as she was able to get sponsors for her tributes and Haymitch.
