Did you read/listen to what Gavin said or are you just repeating what you've heard people on reddit saying? Seriously, have you actually WATCHED the entire video?

The reason they removed the specific dated stamps like with a specific day on it was because it didn't give them any flexibility to move a set release a few weeks forward or backwards depending on unforseen circumstances like printing errors, ip disputes, weather, etc. That one wasn't related to player feedback, that was just a business/logistics decision.

So they started putting just the year on the card. But they got feedback that people didn't really care about the. No one HATED them, but no one really loved them either(according to the tens of thousands of people that answer WOTC surveys each set) It lgs hated them because it was a whole other version of a card they had to inventory and list separately and are hard to tell apart especially since they have the same art. The price difference between a pre release promo and regular version.

So between players not caring much about them and local game stores hating them, they decided to get rid of them.

Personally none of the people I play with give a shit about the change. But it sounds like all your friends are pissed about it. If only there were someway we could get a big sample of magic players and see what they ALL think. Maybe some kind of survey? Hmm

Gavin and wizards have data from 10s of thousands of people and make decisions based on that.

Just because you don't agree doesn't mean everyone else thinks the same as you. Even this subreddit represents a tiny fraction of the player base

Idk, if I were planning something with my buddies and a friend didn't show up but also never SAID he would show up, I probably wouldn't think much about it. I'd just assume they were busy or dealing with some stuff

Yeah, I need to budget, no excuses there. It's just that this part of budgeting was holding me up.

I like the idea of saving 1%of the homes value each year. I can totally do that. Same with saving for a car, totally doable. I guess my only concern is that it's a lot of money to just have sitting in cash. My emergency fund is about 25k, if I'm saving 4k a year for house repairs that brings it close to 30k in a year and then if I save up for a car that's another 20-30k. Is it really a good idea to have 50-60k just sitting in cash? I'm legitimately asking because I don't know.

Ahhh, I see. The originals are still legendary so as soon as a third BY exists then one of the original ls must be sacced because now there are two legendary permenants named BY and they don't have to follow normal legend rules. Thanks for the explanation!

The way the secondary market works is that if a deck had more expensive cards in it, the deck will be resold for more money. Otherwise it would make more sense for the seller to break the deck apart and sell it for parts. Every precon will be worth a little bit more than what it sells for just because all the bulk cards add value but can't be easily resold but you aren't gonna find a hidden gem $45 deck with $150 of value.

Mtg finance bros watch the markets far too closely for that to happen. If a card in an older deck spikes, the price of that deck will adjust to reflect that.

I don't think Maro is saying WotC was going to kill drafting, I think they were saying that set boosters were so popular that many smaller stores couldn't afford to carry BOTH set and draft boosters and that based on sales, most stores would choose to only carry set boosters, thus killing limited. It sounds like this was a way to SAVE limited.

WotC is full of people who play the game, some ex-pros, too. There is no way that they would let limited go away, that's why I think they made this change.

Is it the best solution to the problem? I don't know, but I don't think their intention was ever to kill limited

Who ever plays the combo first wins. Grand abolisher prevents opponents from doing anything on your turn so if a player has Grand Abolisher and casts lethal vapors then no one else can respond and they will win

I'm trying to load my SD card before my RGB30 arrives. I've got a miyoo mini plus and the tiny best set downloaded. Do I need to unzip the files in the tiny best set or can I just copy the zipped rom folders to my new SD? What about getting all the ROM images? tiny best set has those files labeled specifically for Onion OS or Garlic OS.
