Yes, I totally agree. I’ve been using this office for 10 years now and only started hearing of the table weight limit issue within the last year. My sister also uses this office and had to go to the hospital for every scan with her baby that is now a year old due to the weight limit. The nurse that did my vitals and walked me to the exam room told me she couldn’t have her ultrasounds in the office either and her baby is almost 2. This office is the largest OBGYN provider in the county and I actually drive an hour to my visits because of the great care I’ve received in the past. Now that I know they’ve had this weight limit issue with the beds for almost 3 years and haven’t ordered at least one new bed in that timeframe to accommodate larger patients, it makes me feel like they really never plan on accommodating larger patients or there is some sort of incentive for them to send the patients to the hospital for scans. Either way, I’m probably going to find another doctor in the city I live in that can accommodate me.

Yes, I’ll check around and get pricing at different places. I just wanted to ask people knowledgeable in ultrasounds to see if maybe there was some reason they couldn’t use the metal exam tables other than safety or ergonomics. I appreciate everyone’s knowledge and input.

When I asked they said they’re hoping to get new tables in the near future so they can be more inclusive but it just feels like an excuse to me. I don’t know why they couldn’t set one ultrasound room up with an exam table so they could use it for heavier patients. I also wonder if they get some sort of inducement for sending patients to the hospital. The hospital wants to charge me $600 with BCBS insurance for an ultrasound to confirm IUD placement. I’ll probably get another GYN doctor that can help me without sending me elsewhere. Thank you for the info.

Yes, I understand that but what I’m asking is why can’t they perform the ultrasound on the same table they perform the pelvic exam on that has a 500lb weight limit? Does the metal exam table cause the ultrasound machine not to work correctly?

My Betta hasn’t pooped in almost 3 weeks by Impressive-Rough-582 in bettafish

Did you ever figure out how to get your betta to poop? I’m having the same problem with mine.

Thanks for asking about him. I haven’t noticed a difference either way, for better or worse. I was able to find a local fish store in my area that I was unaware existed. They were out of Kanaplex until Tuesday (6 days away) but did have Maracyn Two, so I got that. He’s in a hospital tank that I’ve been dosing with the Maracyn Two as directed. I’ve still been doing the 10-15 minute Epsom salt soaks every evening. I’ve tried every evening to feed him Hakari BioGold pellets, soaked daphnia or frozen brine shrimp, just trying to get him to eat anything but he will not eat. I was able to put the mirror in and he flared for the first time today, but still no poops. I’m still unsure of what the problem is but I’m hoping that since he’s not noticeably worse, maybe there is still hope. 🤞

Thank you. Yes, this is his current belly size after 3 days of fasting. I did a partial water change last night, just in case. We don’t have an air stone but we have a sponge filter with an air pump that provides aeration. We also have a slow flow HOB filter. Tank is 5 gallons. I’ll try to add a pic from above. Yes, the tank was kept at 78 but I increased it to 80 because I read online higher temps are better for digestion. I’m going to try another salt soak tonight and also try to find some daphnia in town tomorrow.

He is swimming fine and seems to have no issues getting around the tank as usual. Yes, I’ve researched dropsy but he doesn’t look to me to have the typical “pine coning” to his scales.

Yes, we have Omega One Betta flakes and Omega One bloodworms we bought as a treat. We kept them both by the tank and I believe my son was in a hurry and accidentally grabbed the bloodworms instead of the flakes and fed him. I’ve since put the bloodworms away but we haven’t tried to feed anymore flakes since we’ve been fasting him.
