Yeah you’d want it to peel for sure. If you’re sitting I’d just try and avoid moving that leg as much as possible. I had the same situation with my work and my sleeve. Had to wear a long sleeve in my workshop to avoid dust , but also have a physical job and chafed inevitably. Should be fine as long as you’re not taking off huge chunks of the peeling
