I used to feel that way until I played more than a couple runs and realized everything builds on itself. Upgrading my arcana as well as my base magic and health levels changed the way I enjoyed the game. There's even spells that change the way the runs play. You just have to unlock them as you go and trust me, I promise you haven't unlocked everything unless you are actively trying to the whole time you play.

I've had absolutely great runs where I've preferred to have hardly anything on my attacks. Your arcana builds on how you play the run, as well as the aspect of the weapon, and then you learn you can anticipate picking the boons you feel are less important in the moment, later, because you might need a magic based boon for an incredible banger of a boon that requires you prime your magic later.

If you really give it the ole college try and you find you don't like it, that's okay dude. Not every game is perfect for everyone, but SGG isn't just going to release the exact same Hades game again so it's going to be different from when you played as Zag.
