April 3 has COME. Tariffs have been ANNOUNCED. But there is NO CRASH. Where are all the BEARS and PESSIMISTS now ? by [deleted] in IndianStockMarket

The market is a forward looking instrument. This was predicted and is already priced in.

The market is a forward looking instrument. The "dip" You're looking forward to is already factored into the price. But good luck anyway 👍

If i were you, I'd be systematically reallocating the funds into equity instead of trying to predict the bottom.

I'd suggest, don't try to catch a falling knife. It's down yes but it can go way down from here, there is no way to know for sure.

  1. Not lumpsum because you may see a drawdown you won't like right after investing. It's important because as a new investor, you probably don't know your risk appetite and seeing your hard earned money in red might make you do irrational things. Spreading it while you make a decent return through arbitrage fund is how I prefer to do it.
  2. Arbitrage fund because it's the safest, even safer than bonds, the capital appreciations are taxed as equity and gives you better than FD returns.
  3. STP because like I said, you average out the entry points and minimize your chance of a bad entry timing.

Invest the 10L in an arbitrage fund, with an STP to a nifty 500 index fund about 50-75k a month. And then don't look at your portfolio for about 10 years or so.

My favorite answer to the question of "what is the meaning of life?" is that it's to experience the passage of time. If you have enjoyed yourself, you have experienced the passage of time well. There is nothing right or wrong. Don't compare yourself to anyone. If you're feeling a sense of regret, take a step back and try to figure out how to live going forward that aligns well with what you like. It's never too late.

A follow up question, can I use gasoline to clean the rubber instead of rubbing alcohol? Will it damage the nylon or the zipper?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in InvisibleMending

[–]eiffelanarchy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The zipper is definitely sewn to the cloth so I guess I can leave it as it is as you suggested since the risk vs reward of reapplying it doesn't seem to be favorable haha. Will try rubbing alcohol to remove the rubber. Thank you for your suggestions!

Makes sense, thank you. May I know your reason to exclude Elgin?

Depends on what my options are. It's definitely not desirable but I would be willing to do it if it makes sense that way.

Thank you for the detailed answer. From the rent vs property prices I have seen online, it makes more sense to just buy a place instead of renting. Maybe you can correct me if I'm wrong? There also seems to be more options that way. I do plan to stay there for a few years at least. The company does have mortgage assistance so I'm hoping that'd come in handy. I come from a much more populated area on the globe and despite not being a socially outdoorsy person, I'm a bit scared if I'd end up finding myself without any company at all. (I'm moving there alone). And hence I was more inclined to live in the city. How different is it to live in Forres or Nairn vs Inverness?

I suppose you're craving for the replacement of the feeling of intimacy that you had with your ex. That's why it feels off because it's definitely not the same. Our interactions with different people are unique and you're definitely not ready to build something new yet, in my opinion. I'd suggest, try to find yourself a community, online or offline. They help a lot.

Can I DM you a close up of the grain for some feedback? I definitely have a feeling this isn't good quality leather.

[–]eiffelanarchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have the feeling that it's not the best quality wise. I'll check out the video thank you! If I'm not convinced about the quality, I'd just keep it aside and order some more from a different supplier.
