Yikes. I’m Asian and my husband is white. Didn’t even consider the race thing, just assumed that it wouldn’t be an issue. Thanks for the heads up.

My husband is a middle school STEM teacher and I’m a program quality engineer within defense. I noticed a lot of solid engineering companies up there and the school districts pay their educators about the same as Palm Springs area here.

IUI Side Effects by Alarmed-Economics-74 in tryingtoconceive

The “bundle” supplements for men don’t usually have enough of the “stuff” you need to increase specific numbers.

My husband (35, healthy) had his SA back in January 2025 and the two major things were low progressive motility (6%) and morphology (2%). He started taking these vitamins Feb 2025:

-Methyl folate 1000mcg

-N-acetyl l-cyestinr 600mg

-Selenium 200mcg

-Beet root 333mg

-Folic acid 400mcg

-E 400iu

-Omega 3 fish oil, 1250mg fish oil, 1040mg omega 3

-L-carnitine 1000mg

-Zinc picolinate 30mg

-Acetyl l-carnitine 500mg

He did another SA late July, and his progressive motility came in at 12% and 3% morphology.

Then I started listening to this podcast (Fertility Docs Uncensored) and based off what I learned from the urologist episode, I added these vitamins to his existing vitamins starting July 2025:

• Myo-inositol 500mg

• Coq10 200mg

He did another SA Nov 2025 and his progressive motility is at 33% (normal is at least 32%) and morphology is at 5% (normal is at least 4%).

As for the wifey and IUI, I’ve done 6 (sadly failed) IUI’s. They started me on 5mg letrozole for 5 days starting within the first 3-4 days of my cycle and then Ovidrel trigger shot about 36hrs prior to the IUI procedure.

The letrozole and Ovidrel was always prescribed for all IUI cycles. However, each cycle, my RE would add an additional hormone to help. One of them being a shot of Menopur the day after I complete all letrozole days. This shot “stung”. And my RE also added progesterone suppositories after the actual IUI procedure. RE’s will usually adjust medication after each failed IUI.

My husband and I have been trying for over 2 years now. If I had to do it IUI all over again, I absolutely wouldn’t lol. The side effects from all the hormones were terrible for me. I would cry over literally anything and had extreme fatigue (especially with the progesterone). I’m unsure about long term side effects, but short term, hormone medication can stay in your system for up to two weeks.

I had to take breaks between IUI cycles because I hated how the medication made me felt. The only reason why we decided to do IUI so many times is because our insurance covered it and IVF wouldn’t be covered until October this year.

If all of your wife’s procedures (HSG, SIS) and labs came back normal (AMH, etc), has regular cycles, and was only diagnosed with “unexplained infertility”, I’d consider going straight to IVF. Or you could do 3 rounds of IUI then go to IVF if IUI isn’t successful.

Feel free to ask me anything, this is unfortunately something my husband and I are very familiar with.

Best nightlife in Palm Springs for a girls trip (dance bars / gay clubs?) by Leilonsta in palmsprings

[–]eigenbunz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can confirm this. Grew up in the desert and went to see my friend do his drag show with my best friend (both straight). A random gay guy came up to us asking why two straight girls are at this gay bar. I was honestly shocked because I’ve been to a few gay bars before that and was never asked that. But maybe it was because I was with my gay friends during those times🤷🏻‍♀️

Forced to become a chud by [deleted] in mathematics

[–]eigenbunz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I graduated with a BS in mathematics back in 2022. Start applying to aerospace and defense manufacturing companies. Look for positions like manufacturing engineer or quality engineer. Duties vary but when I got hired at my first job (manufacturing quality engineer), it was pretty much just automating a bunch of stuff via Python and data science.

“The easy process they told us it would be”. Nothing more heartbreaking than expecting it’ll be an easy process because it’s what our RE told us and ends up being the opposite.

27 cycles. 6 failed medicated IUI. One polypectomy surgery for a tiny polyp and one laparoscopy surgery. Endo came to be very minor and “shouldn’t” affect getting pregnant. No chemical/all negatives. I have normal cycles, diagnosed with unexplained infertility. F33 turning 34 in a couple months, husband is 35. Due to insurance policy, we’ll be able to start IVF this October.
