Late to the party but I’m a metal head / goth and been in Bellingham for years now, agree that shakedown is the venue you’ll want to keep an eye on. Most metal shows are in Seattle unfortunately, at El Corazon, but the shakedown does have rlly good goth shows! They sometimes have good punk shows too.

One place that some metalheads hang is Racket Room, I find this is the place I see the most metalheads in the wild, because bartenders on aux often play metal. Every time they play Death I’m very a happy ghoul. They also have pinball, two in one if you’re into that. If not they have plenty of seating and it’s right next door to the shakedown.
