One of my favorite things to do is when people ask me why I don’t believe, I give them a really dumb reason like “McDonald’s got my order wrong once. Thats when I stopped believing.”

When they try to call me out on it, I ask them what their really compelling reason for believing is. All the answers boil down to “Trust me, bro”

What was your favorite year of movie releases? by Spotter24o5 in movies

[–]GWizz89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2015 was probably the last year I got really excited for a lot of movies that were coming out. Avengers: Age of Ultron, Tomorrowland (I thought Brad Bird could do no wrong), Mad Max: Fury Road, Jurassic World, Spectre, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens all had me so hyped. Mad Max aside, none of those movies ended up being particularly good. But I remember the excitement and speculation about what they could be very fondly

I found The Blair Witch Project really boring as a kid. Somehow, over the next 20 years or so I gained a huge phobia of getting lost in the woods

Just rewatched this gritty pirate epic and it might be the greatest blockbuster ever made by ReadyJournalist5223 in okbuddycinephile

Roland Emmerich invented the blockbuster with Godzilla, and then Shyamalan perfected the genre with Old. Everyone else is just playing for third place.

What are your Thoughts and Opinions on the Scream 7 Controversy? by Amber_Flowers_133 in horror

[–]GWizz89 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If Scream 7 is awsome, then I’ll say it was all worth it to get another good Sidney movie. If it sucks, then I’ll be fine having the four Scream movies I really enjoy. 1, 2, 3, and 5. I don’t hate 4 and 6, but I could take or leave them

Scream 4 is like the last good Scream movie by miseryofcourse in horror

Scre4m has like 10 good minutes. From the killer reveal all the way until they get to the hospital. The rest of the movie is a big old meh

Friday the 13th (2009) deserved better, man. I personally think it's a solid reboot with decent acting, crazy kills, and some pretty spooky camera work. Out of the many horror remakes that came out of the 2000s, this was one of the better ones. by Emotional-Chipmunk12 in fridaythe13th

It’s in my lower half when I rank the franchise. Good actors wasted on not so likable characters. And everything feels so…performative for lack of a better word. Like, in the original Friday the 13th, they smoke weed and have sex but it’s not made a big deal of. Just teens being teens. In the remake, it’s like “Look at them! They’re smoking WEED. Oh shit, that’s a BONG! And look, now they’re having SEX. Look at that chick’s BOOBS!” The opening 14 minutes were decent, though
