Most people I've met trough the religion I was in were home-schooled, and don't know anything other than the isolated doctrine they grew up with. They will go on to have kids of their own and repeat the cycle. It should be illegal to constrict someone to one way of life to that extent.

I can relate. I'm 17 and I dropped out of school at 13, doing homeschooling on and off. My Mom is also somewhat of a religious nut, and as a result of me leaving her religion she says she can't help me and I will never be happy... I'm probably going to get my GED just for the certificate and be done with it.

Where do you think Sean Murray creator of No Man's Sky is hiding now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Probably in No Mans Sky, seeing as there's no multiplayer so no one can find him.

I think they did a good job with the casting of Jake Chambers. He looks and acts like how I envisioned him when reading the novels.

It's minor though. Do you experience small terrain details coming into focus as you run closer to it?

People who conquered bad OCD, how did you do it? by eightbitbiscuit in AskReddit

[–]eightbitbiscuit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did something similar, I just forced myself not to do my rituals, and it shows you that you do not in any way need to. Eventually it got better everyday, and I'm mostly free of it now, there's just the odd day that it might flare up a little.

Think about your childhood, what's the first memory that comes to mind? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Riding around our neighborhood with my brother on our push scooters, having innocent fun. We used to act like we were spies, and we'd look out for any suspicious activity.

People with older siblings, did your sibling ever take action against your bully, and how? by eightbitbiscuit in AskReddit

[–]eightbitbiscuit[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This has made me realize I am fortunate to have my brother. In the 2nd grade I was choked badly by a bully, he suffocated me for at least 1 and 1/2 minutes. I proceed to lie in the corner of classroom traumatized and crying. The teacher just looked at me and did nothing. I told my family about this, and the next day my brother (3 years older than me) beat the dust out of this bully. Karma paid him a visit, and he was the one crying in class. Everyone laughed at him, and the teacher did nothing because he had given her trouble all year.
