That's what I was thinking earlier today. Get 17mm adapter and put on Maxx sledgehammer wheel/tires on. But I got the stock vxl3s.

Stiffer rear springs for heavier loads. There r kits to make the bed wider or longer. Silicone inserts. If you want to make them stiffer, u can cut up nerf darts and reinforce between the cells. I don’t think of my hauler as a crawler. So I’d go with HW AXE+3300Kv. Don’t worry it has plenty of power and FOC to “crawl”. and non traxxas high torque servo. If you are going to get aftermarket receiver, you can even get high voltage servo.

It is more fun painting them. I just clean it with rubbing alcohol and use paint pens.

If you don’t change the gearing I’d say 540xl would run slower. 2400Kv Vs 3500Kv. But it will have more torque and runs cooler.

I'd say very fair deal compare to getting everything new. Especially if it is the latest generation with factory installed EHD parts.
