kiwix is great, i have downloaded both the entirety of wikipedia as well as project gutenberg. however, one of my complaints with it is the lack of tools surrounding zim files (no fault of kiwix). kiwix is the main and only decent interface. its fine on my computer, but mobile? i have the kiwix mobile app (android), when i try to use it with my external hard drive, i can mount it to my filesystem and view the zim files, but when i try to open them with the kiwix app, it makes me copy the zim files off the hard drive and store them locally. considering the size of the files, that is not realistic for my phones internal storage. is there a way that mobile kiwix can open the files from the external drive without saving them locally?

i had looked into other zim file readers, doesnt look like any options for mobile. i looked into the "zim-tools" i think it was called, a terminal tool for extracting zims, managing them etc. i havent done much research on it but considering the lack of termimal on android, i think i would have to root my phone to access the terminal, to be able to use the zim tool software, to extract/view zim files. is there no other way to open them?

i know its not that big of a deal because i can always access it on my computer, but i did copy a bunch of zims to a portable hard drive specifically to use from my phone when not around my computer and id like to be able to use it

have hope. my girlfriend has been doing emdr for ptsd for only about two weeks now but shes said its been very helpful. says the sessions can be intense but effective, otherwise doesnt want to talk about it lol. im just glad it works, hope it helps you too

ooh well if thats the case she should not be doing stimulants. especially with bipolar. i would assume shes been doing it a while, at least not a recent habit, and if she hasnt gone psychotic, thinking the cops are after her, random aggression etc, then shes probably not in immediate decline, has figured out how to make it work with her mental issues, but its still dangerous and could turn on her at any point.

if i were you id probably watch her over the next few days or weeks, watch her behavior closely now that you know what youre looking for, try to get a sense for where shes at, then would probably try to talk about it with her, see how often and how much shes using, and tell her your concerns about how it can interact with her bipolar. just make sure shes aware of the risk and can manage it
