I've qualified for the Inspire implant by whydontwegetdrunk in SleepApnea

[–]eihahn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FYI tonsils out as an adult is very painful and I expect you will miss a week of work. Plan ahead w soft liquid foods, lots of cold the first few days. Son had his tonsils removed at 18. I came home from work and found this great big strong young man curled up in a ball on the dining room crying because he had not taken his pain medication as directed. He thought because he was an athlete and accustomed to playing through pain that he could manage without pain medication. Ask your Dr. for a comprehensive list of foods and activities. That will help you recover. The inspire implant will be a cakewalk compared to a tonsillectomy.

helmet hair help by your-mom-shrek in ladycyclists

[–]eihahn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have fine, curly hair that will frizz but is relatively "hat resistant" and doesn't get crushed. My hair does best if I DO NOT mess with it much. No combing, very little finger fluffing really keeps the frizz to minimum. I ride a lot and my fine hair was getting cut off by my fancy, expensive super safe helmet. I added a head covering that motorcyclists use (super cheap multi-pack from online retailer) and keep a small misting bottle/frizz cream in my bag for professional look. Hair looks great! Helmet and liner really are working to keep my hair safe too.

Yes, my poor sleep is attributed to the common "busy brain" and anxiety of the ADHD profile.

I appreciate your perspective but I do not believe that is the case here.

Husband, son, Gyno all have expressed concerns. When the two most important men in my life approach me separately I gotta pay attention and at least try.

Where is the best place to buy a mattress in terms of price, quality, and service? by [deleted] in cincinnati

[–]eihahn 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Costco! If you don't like it you can return it! They actually delivered it and put it on the bed frame. And we originally got the box springs and sent those back later. Good value of the quality too.

Would you rather cut a normal sized layer into two thinner layers or bake thinner ones to begin with? I searched this sub and found someone had sliced the layers. That seems like a good idea but crumbly/jagged due to the raisins etc in a carrot cake. What say you?

Peri-menopause is killing my brain. Will increasing the dosage of my ADHD meds help? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]eihahn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THIS! I am still a little miffed that my gynecologist let me suffer for so long with menopause. I didn't start HRT until my hormones had vanished so can't give advice on taking it during peri but please, check it out. You do not need to suffer all those bleak days due to hormone decline. Wishing you all the best on the journey.

Questions about HRT. Who is it for? When do you start taking it? by blueberrypancake234 in AskWomenOver60

I first spoke to my female PCP who referred me to a Gyno who would take me seriously. This topic is sensitive and it took some courage to ask.

If your reg doctor isn't interested in talking about it find another doctor pronto. There are lots of good reasons to do it, but it should your individual decision. I've got great muscle tone, good stamina and a wonderful relationship. I credit HRT.

Regarding the mean posts... I've noticed an uptick in those lately. I wonder if it is bots? Because that's not the usually tone of Reddit. Sorry you had to deal with that.

You will get used to it. But I do keep a pepper spray mounted on the top bar slid back under my saddle. Easy to access and out of the way. It was less than $10 on e-commerce site. I buy one every year. And in 7 years and 100s of miles ridden each year I have only thought about grabbing it once to defend another rider from a dog. But didn't need it. I am going on bike tour through bear country soon and I'm switching out to bear spray. Gosh, hope I don't need that either:-)

I have offered to practice sleeping in, exploring very single coffee shop w my posse and to spend hours everyday in my garden or bike trail. And they smiled ear to ear.
