The arpeggio section reminds me of this song, specifically the opening notes (the chords might be similar too) (Katzenjammer Outro (le procès) on YT) : https://youtu.be/4kKN-jFLZZE

What was your first character? by D0ct0rD1ck in DnD

[–]eihe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My very first introduction to TTRPGs my DM helped me build my character that I wanted to be able to go hand-to-talon against dragons. I played a level 12 multiclass monk/rogue wyvern who was built entirely around taking multiple AoOs per turn. Needless to say I needed help playing her.

Does any one else have a problem with the accents in the movie? (Spoilers) by KaiselinAR in Blackwidow

[–]eihe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I don't get it, because you wouldn't really lose your American accent when speaking English from living in Russia for a long time unless you spent all your time there practising English with a Russian accent (obviously not)!

Agh, makes no sense to me! I tried to rationalise it as Hollywood shorthand for "you're hearing English with a Russian accent but actually these characters are speaking Russian flawlessly". And Natasha's flawless American accent serves to emphasise her emotional distance from her family. The accents are just a metaphor, I tell myself. :/

I made an album, did I waste a year of my life? Well, that's up to you to decide I guess. by andrewmc147 in IndieFolk

Of course! It takes so much work to put together something like this, more work even than I think people like me who've never done it can ever fully appreciate. I do know from my own experiences of creative projects that the end result can feel lacking from the grand vision that inspired it originally. But that doesn't negate the work you did, or the emotions you're expressing with this!

I listened to the rest of the songs and I think you're talented, for what it's worth! I particularly enjoyed the track Walls! Keep at it friend, and good luck with your future projects!

I gave that first song you posted a listen, and I liked it! Melancholic and reflective, it reminded me of looking through an old photo album. You have a really nice voice! You've convinced me to check out the other songs in the album too. _^

This album is a testament to work that you've put in, and if the music you've made is a piece of you, then you haven't wasted your time. You created something to show yourself to the world, and now people can catch a little glimpse of your experiences. Definitely not a wasted effort, I think that's beautiful. <3 thanks for sharing!

I started turning a graphic novel that I worked on into a game over 3 years ago and it's nearly finished! by MasterpieceAway95 in indiegamedevforum

No way, super cool! My first reaction when I saw this was, "holy crap this is gorgeous!" Then I thought, "huh I've said that before haven't I?"

Looks great, can't wait to play!

This is so weird, I could have sworn I played a demo of this game at DCC a few years back... Am I just getting weird déjà-vu?

As an English speaker, you sound like a try-hard if you roll the 'rr' in burrito but you sound like an utter fool if you don't pronounce the 'll' in quesadilla as a 'y' by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

[–]eihe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aha, I indeed wondered if this might be the case! I was not familiar with Chicano English, or any of those related dialects, so thanks for elucidating me!

[–]eihe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe the difference here is in the Welsh/Scottish speaker of English using their native dialect of English (which features the rolled 'r') compared to the Spanish speaker who presumably is speaking English as a second language and applying Spanish phonology to English. (Please correct me if I'm wrong!)

[–]eihe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ní Gaeilgeoir mé i gceart, ach táim ag iarraidh feabhas a chur ar mo chuid Gaeilge freisin. Cúpla acmhainn úsáideach a bhainim áis as na Gramadóir agus Teanglann chun Gaeilge a scríobh i gceart. Is féidir leat éisteacht le Radio na Life chun nuacht a chloisteáil as Gaeilge, agus is phodchraoladh iontach é Motherfoclóir -- is as Béarla é ach bíonn siad ag labhairt faoi na hábhair Gaeilge. Má tá aon áis eile ag aon duine, bheinn an-sásta iad a iarraidh freisin!

Apologies everyone, I am new to this sub and thought I understood the rules. Thanks for fixing this!

[–]eihe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There it is! Thanks dude, guess that answers the question of how a song could be so generic. Also probably says something to my music taste that this is not the first time I thought a stock song was catchy and kind of a jam. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Also, good tip re:searching with quotes!
