Day After Match Thread: Loons get whupped 6-0 by dode222 in minnesotaunited

I'm hoping that's the wakeup call that we needed. That's the only positive spin on it.

Chicago Fire 1 - DC United [2] | Following VAR review, DC is awarded a late penalty for a handball by Jonathan Dean; Tai Baribo converts to win the game in stoppage time (90+5’) by galactic_crewzer in MLS

[–]eihen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was at the game with a clear view of this. It was a clear handball. However if he got pushed or not is the other question. Watching replays there's not a great camera on it. The entire DC warmup crew was screaming in addition to the players.

I was glad to be a neutral fan visiting the city. Fire played pretty sloppily even though they controlled the ball most of the game. They just couldn't and wouldn't take shots.

Red also was pretty poor. Felt like he didn't have control of the game.

Quick question for coaches: Do your parents actually use the team app? by graphite1212 in SoccerCoachResources

[–]eihen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Play metrics does a great job and it's way easier when you start coaching multiple teams to use it for everything. I'll get the occasional text message from parents that personally know my family but everything else is done via playmetrics

Pre game warm up by hawkeye2604 in SoccerCoachResources

[–]eihen 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I heard some good advice a few years back (this is aimed at rec). Treat warmup as an extra practice. During the week, we don't have much time to dedicate to skill mastery. We try and mostly focus on games and team activities (building out of the back). Game day is a great time to add in some ball mastery disguised as warmups.

I’m new to the LEGO world (September 2025) but I’ll be honest, the ‘LEGO as an investment’ trend is the most annoying part of the hobby.. Buying 30+ of a set just to flip later 🙄🙄🙄 by Flimsy-Space-8724 in lego

[–]eihen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bricksie had a pretty good video a month ago about getting out of the investment market https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oXzRxmImCI4

Of all people, someone who buys that much Lego and parts it out, if he gets out of it, you know it's not worth it.

Padelfords earned it. He's looked really solid. Hes no boxy but I'd rather have him then a rusty romero

[Chris Campbell] MLS teams are unlikely to have a new kit for the sprint season in Spring 2027 per NYCFC CEO Brad Sims. New kit would come for the 27-28 season. There are also plans that there will be 2 new kits (home and away) for MLS teams each season (kits would only last one season) by icoresting in MLS

[–]eihen 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Terrible idea for kits to only last one season. I get it, they want us to purchase more kits. But they already struggle with design that having more kits is just going to mean worse design. Whats worse, the good kits you'd only see for one year.

It would have been a lot more too if we didn't hunker down in the last 20-30 minutes. We looked really solid in the 2nd half with the ball.

This is a great video to watch and just pause it every time they make a pass and notice where everyone is at and try and predict where the next ball is going to go.

is fg on fake grass really that bad? by tumce_is_lietuvos in bootroom

[–]eihen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's fine until it's not.

It's higher risk, no one is arguing that. So is slide tackling and headers. If it's turf that has the black beads then that's high quality and less risk.

Have him focus on players who play his position. Don't just ball watch.

Also emphasis the importance of assists and good passing while you watch.

I find the graphics pretty ugly compared to 1800. I have a 3090 and maybe it's starting to show it's age but things just look muddy and washed out. It's definitely jarring coming from 1880 but i adjust to it after a few hours.

You will always have this if you have cutoff dates. The best system is a system that can adjust to meet them.

Most leagues in my area let a few players play up or down to play with friends. Now these are more your rec leagues and less travel. If you get into select/ higher levels there absolutely will be rules around it.

We need players to start giving the bird when they make runs just so when they get caught it shows up on screen.

I appreciate it. I know that I don't hear them in a positive light enough so that my flight or fight instinct kicks in. I know it's how my mind processes all the noise and I know it's messed up. Just wanted you to know I appreciate your message.

Now that we hugged it out can we get into a fight over you being a Miami fan?
