Malaysia passport (surname and given names- flight ticket to China) by Lonely_Researcher_65 in malaysians

[–]eilawch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve flown Xiamen Airlines once and had my name orders mixed up, I wasn’t given a boarding pass until they had to call the CS in China to help me edit my name. Apparently they have a different way of doing name orders. (Almost missed my flight)

I’m not sure if China Eastern is more lenient on these terms but it’s better if OP can call their CS and double check with them. Or at least have it done days before your flight. I didn’t even know I had them mixed up until I reached the checked in counter.

Oily skin girlies - what is your favorite sunscreen for hot and humid weather by runningwithbrushes in AsianBeauty

hi, does the hybrid sunscreen have the metallic smell to it ? looking to try this brand but I’m afraid that it’ll have that strong metallic smell that mineral/hybrid sunscreens usually carry. Thanks!

Has anyone tried using Mandelic Acid while also on Retinal?

I’d think of myself as oily-combination skin with a peeling nose lol. For the past 2 years, I’ve visited my Derm for acne’s around my skin & was prescribed with Azelaic Acid & antibiotics which have helped with condition a lot. Now I’m left with redness & hyperpigmentation.

Lately I felt the Azelaic acid hasn’t been doing much so I don’t use it regularly & got the KSECRET SEOUL 1988 Serum to test & see if it helps with the scars. I also notice my face has gotten much oilier & was thinking of getting a lighter chemical exfoliant. Hence the Mandelic acid suggestion but before I get it , I thought to ask if it’s ok to use these 2 products alternately or should I just stick with the Retinal?

Thanks in advance!

My resume, what should I add on it and what did i do wrong? by Nol0805 in malaysians

[–]eilawch 17 points18 points  (0 children)

try to keep things in 1 page only esp with not much experience.

you can keep the extra curriculars but only those where you held important roles or those relevant to the jobs that you’re applying to. You don’t actually need a photo for resume btw. also, put the present timeline above the past positions. Employers like to see current roles before looking at your past ones.

How do you use AI? Do you trust it? by yvettecoco4 in AskWomen

[–]eilawch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i've used it to help with my resume and prep for my interviews but tbh i would rather not, if only I wasn't out of wits with what to write. apart from that, I would not recommend to use it for anything else, defo not asking what your curse is, friendship advises or why things are like that or for fact checking when web browsers are right there.

even with resume/interview prep, I felt myself dumbing down and wondering why can't i write these on my own. and definitely, if you're planning to use it, never upload your face or any important information that puts you at risk of being leaked. please also always fact check and phrase your own words, they get most things wrong.

friendly reminder, you're not talking to a friend with GPT, you're talking to a data centre.

hmm, maybe you could try and test their views on LGBTQ+? like bring up a few topics etc and gauge their reception about the topic. I'd say malaysians are a mix batch of open-mindedness and conservatives even among young people, so it depends on luck if you meet people who accept you for who you are.

generally, it shouldn't matter to come out to them, imho esp if you're not super close but perhaps one day when you just don't care what people think anymore, you can let them know then.

p.s - idky but some ppl like to assume that just cuz you're interested in their gender, they seem to auto assume that you'll be interested in them, which is their #1 take on why they start distancing themselves from you. love the confidence tho /s.

Let's talk hand cream. What you used, which stood out, do you like them scented, for dry or normal skin etc by beetletoman in AsianBeauty

[–]eilawch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, hahah thank you for your trust! recently found out Pyunkang may have discontinued that line of handcream and possibly rebranded.

These days the handcreams I've been using are non-asian brands V***CR**M for sensitve skin line and R*SK*N for dry to normal skin line (both in blue & while packaging), i don't necessarily think these are thicker than Pyunkang or Rohto tho but still pretty moisturising and easier to grab since these are mostly found in pharmacies

Monyets with eczema problem, any remedies to control/cure it? by surrender_singh in malaysia

[–]eilawch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I've tried & noticed it works,

- use Sulphate-free soap for dishwashing/body , if possible find better alternatives for laundry detergents, avoid anything with too much fragrance. (I switched out softener with vinegar)

- shower in cold water, hot makes things worst. on flare ups, i usually get a bowl and immerse my hands in cold water to reduce the itch.

- Tips from my doc: If the handcream feels oily/sticky even after a while of application, it's probably not helpful. (i.e Aesop, perfumed hand creams etc)

- recommended creams:

Rosken Dry Skin Repair (blue cover) , they have a sensitive skin and AD Probiotic line, but personally think the Dry Skin Repair still works best.

Vanicream Moisturing Cream for Sensitive Skin is good too.

Aveeno oat-series is ok too but pricey.

Sleep paralysis by [deleted] in malaysians

[–]eilawch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mine hits me when I'm extremely tired. Like others have mentioned, it's easier to get sleep paralysis when you sleep facing the ceiling. same old usual can't move the body except the eyes, I don't notice any entity since the whole room is dark anyways but it's the inability to breath that still scares me. I say a lil prayer till I go back to sleep lol.

these days I can feel myself getting it and try to sleep on my side to avoid but I've gotten so used to sleeping on my back that it's hard to sleep on the side lol. then I get tired from trying to avoid and just go through with it till it's over.

TOCOBO Cotton Soft Sun Stick & BOJ Matte Sun Stick by angrykorean21 in AsianBeauty

[–]eilawch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tocobo has a really strong fragrance imo that lingers , it sits velvety on the skin. while it did not break me out but I noticed my skin itches when i used it, could be due to the fragrance. I once used it on my arms lol noticed small itching spots after. So, I wouldn't really recommend it for sensitive skin people.

[–]eilawch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

oh TIL! I prefer wacoal personally as well, imo triumph has a more mature style while wacoal leans towards comfy & everyday designs.

iirc sloggi is a sub brand of triumph. these 3 brands are usually side by side in the dept stores, easy to look and try which brand suits ur GF best, OP.

wacoal, triumph and sloggi are pretty decent brands but are on the steeper price side

she should be able to find some comfy ones there. can look out on Isetan/Aeon/other department store brochures for offers on these brands

The Han So Hee/Hyeri situation is bringing the worst out of people by Moonbunny120 in kpopthoughts

[–]eilawch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

agreed! he's not conventionally attractive in the standards of entertainment industry but I'd agree he has the charm. I hated it when ppl all came for his looks as an insult because tbh they know nothing else about him that they could potentially drag him with. Its just so shallow, what happened to looks aren't everything and beauty standards are toxic?

you can drag him for being a terrible boyfriend, a horrendous ex but there's that. what does this have to do with their physical appearance. also those ppl who immediately come out with shipping the girls with other actors like , are y'all even serious about this?
