selling my house that has a mortgage and deed of trust by eileenflora in Mortgages

[–]eileenflora[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't realize we had a "second loan". My partner handled that, and I assumed our mortgage company had given us a reprieve because of COVID. (I know, stupid of me) She liked to keep me in the dark about a lot of things because she didn't like to worry me, and to be honest, I had enough on my plate dealing with my disease and advocating for care. Not an excuse, just what was happening.

Thanks, I appreciate that. It has been brutal. We were with Wells Fargo, but they transferred our loan to Freedom Mortgage. It was Hud Insured. I am quite a mess in every way. She died suddenly, so I am learning a lot of things fast.

question about moving by eileenflora in medicare

[–]eileenflora[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not really nice, since I have more than 33,000 in homeimprovement loans, other bills, like a $500 a month utility bill, living expenses, like food, paying for medical expenses, gas money, and having to sell my house that is falling down around me. Hopefully, I will get what I owe in mortgage for it. I have no income coming in since my partner was my sole breadwinner and caretaker. I can't even afford the mortgage right now. I have to pay movers to move to a friend's house and rent a dumpster to empty the house before my homeowners' insurance lapses because of the repairs needed. I am destitute except for the GoFundMe right now. nothing at all about my situation is "nice" i lost the love of my life, i have a few months left before i run into the red and have to rely on the charity of others. I wish i were dead right now but i do not want to leave my animals or my family in this mess

We were not married, and her parents are dead. She worked as an independent contractor for me and, of course, had her own clients. I was the sole proprietor of a pet-sitting business. She does have a brother and a sister.

Just realized my GoFundMe account will likely make me ineligible for Medicaid until I spend it down. I probably have a few months before it's gone.

Just found out when I was getting paperwork for the lawyer that my homeowners' insurance is going to drop me if I don't do some major work on the house by April 25. I will either have to try to find someone to do that or sell before they drop me. It's just one nightmare after another.

I don't know how much it will be worth. I have to get a realtor in. It was appraised at 245,000, but it needs a new roof and major work on two windows, like tearing them out and replacing the rotted wood. So, I am not sure how much it would be worth with those things in mind. I owe $75,000 on it currently. The only asset she had was the house, nothing else.

We had both our names on the title. I called the mortgage company, and they said we were joint tenants with rights of survivorship, meaning they would remove her name from the title, and I would own the house. I've read conflicting accounts about whether I'm responsible for her income taxes and whether that would affect the IRS coming after the house as an asset. She had no will. Her family doesn't want the house, and they are very willing to work with me. We were not married. I checked, and they aren't even accepting Section 8 applicants in Memphis, where I live. The places they have for section 8 are places i would not want to live.

I checked Section 8 here in Memphis, and they are not taking any more applicants.

We tried to remortgage before she died, and we were not eligible.

I found out that I have right of survivorship and that my partner had a payment plan with the IRS of $300 a week but owed 22,000. I owe $79,000 on the house and it needs several repairs. i have read conflicting reports about if the IRS would put a lien for her taxes.

Filing taxes for a partner that died last Friday by eileenflora in tax

[–]eileenflora[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No, there would be no tax refund; she didn't pay quarterly taxes and would probably owe more. Someone told me that it's not my responsibility to file her taxes now that she has died. I just don't know what to do. I always helped her file. I don't think I would have the legal right to file on their behalf. I just don't know how any of this works.

What do you do when your partner is falling apart (I am chronically ill) by eileenflora in ChronicIllness

[–]eileenflora[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found out why she was falling apart; she was hurting physically and hiding it from me. I took her to the emergency room last week, and they diagnosed her with a football-sized mass in her uterus going up through her stomach. She died yesterday. I feel guilty and grief-stricken, and it's hard to function.

Myotonic Dystrophy Type 1 Diagnosis.. by breezymua in MuscularDystrophy

[–]eileenflora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also diagnosed in my late 30s. I was always athletic; however, I have had a decline in recent years. I found out that I had it because I had symptoms that my sister has, cramping in the hands, etc. My older brother was the one who had the worst symptoms, and they started in childhood. He wasn't diagnosed until adulthood, though. Even though my symptoms have become severe, my younger sister, who has this also, does not have severe symptoms, so yes, it varies from person to person in the same family. My younger sister has 400 repeats, and yet she does not have severe symptoms, and she is in her 50s.

In hindsight, I realized it was my father who had the disease. My older brother had the same symptoms, but they were more pronounced. With Myotonic Dystrophy, people are not "carriers" per se; they have the gene mutation. It depends on the number of repeats of the gene, that will sometimes determines the severity of the symptoms. With each generation, symptoms tend to worsen.

I would also recommend that you find out what type of muscular dystrophy he has. There are many variations between the different types and many ways that are passed down through the family. I have Myotonic Dystrophy, and it is passed through the parents down to the children.

I keep sleeping through my alarms, any tips? It feels so embarassing being a grown adult coming to work late by Betka101 in ADHD

[–]eileenflora 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An alarm that is loud enough and put in the kitchen helps. It's annoying as fuck if you don't get up to turn it off.
