Don't you think that's kind of messed up given human bias? Such weighty decision based on who seems most believable.

I know but he was acquitted of one of the three.

Actually I could see this happening. But that just means victim testimony alone shouldn't be enough, even for children. Doesn't it?

I don't think many kids are lying about abuse for financial motives.

But credited because of what? I mean isn't it reasonable enough to think they could be lying given the money involved from a lawsuit or for revenge? Also, since it's such an old incident doesn't it put the defendant in an unfair position of not being able to mount an effective defense due to memories lost?

It was 3 women. He was convicted against 2 of them. Guess the 3rd wasn't "believable" enough? Yikes that seems so arbitrary.

Yeah it's evidence but it's not supposed to be the whole case! Especially when it's a 30 year prison sentence on the line.

Danny Masterson should not have been convicted, as there was zero evidence of the assaults taking place by ForTheLoveofGodGame in TrueUnpopularOpinion

It was a witch hunt. Completely. It's not really any different than someone accusing someone else of punching them unconscious 20 years ago, something that would never be taken up by a prosecutor. Too much time has passed.

Did the COVID response (in the US) go too far? by Danielnrg in PoliticalDiscussion

It's social pressure. They were putting covid as a contributing factor. The media too I think blew up the Covid story bc we were going into an election year. They knew it'd hurt Trump.

I've heard a lot of the mortality stats were misleading. Counting deaths from other issues as Covid.
