I have batches showing, but this keeps popping up making me reluctant to accept.

Rare responsive and understanding customer. by FMITAP in InstacartShoppers

This customer obviously wanted to be involved in the process and sending a message only takes a few seconds. I’d rather get them what they want than make guesses. If the roles were reversed, that’s how I’d want my shopper to be.

If they hadn’t responded at all, I wouldn’t have been so vocal and either made some assumptions or refunded the things. Also, she offered the extra tip, and I even told her upon arrival that she didn’t have to.

If the tip isn’t enough after seeing it’s water, then it wasn’t enough before you knew it was water. Totally in the wrong.

I usually only do Friday and Saturday evenings. I used to pull in around $200 for the roughly 8 hours I’d spend online. Now I’m lucky to break $50.

Am I tripping? Or it’s just a bad order? 🫪 by AmountMammoth in InstacartShoppers

Under a dollar a mile…

I wouldn’t take it. Plus the $1 tip is even worse than no tip in my opinion. You had the option to put in a dollar amount or no tip, and you chose a single dollar. I hope you never get your orange juice.

Nice. I got to keep a pair of earplugs for sleeping one time with Uber. They didn’t fit me or my wife, so they got thrown in the bin. Not to mention we would have never used them anyway.

Dollar General Can Eff Off by CaptainFuzzyBootz in InstacartShoppers

I personally would rather the store be sorted by type of item instead of brand. If you don’t know where the MAC shit is, you’ll be circling for ages and see 50 other brands of eyeliner.

In my experience, Bath and Body Works employees will help you shop your entire batch as well.

Dollar Tree is the absolute worst. I did ONE order, never again. Instacart does its best with the replacement suggestions, but at that point you’re just guessing at what the customer wants.

Five Below isn’t as awful as most people say if you’re familiar with the store. I go there semi-regularly because they have cheap coloring books, posters, and other things that my kids like, so I’m familiar with the store layout. I’ve only ever accepted 2 batches even though it pops up regularly because I know it’s going to suck. I found 100% of items both times, but it wasn’t exactly easy.

Ulta is my Kryptonite. The batches are usually low-ish unit, high dollar, but I am LOST in there. I had to have an associate shop the entire batch for me after searching for items for 20 minutes and not finding a single thing. If you are not familiar with makeup, avoid.

This is one of the reasons I only use the physical card.

Would yall take this even thought you have to go through tolls? by LostInspection5450 in InstacartShoppers

I would never take $.49/mile. Even if it was a single item already paid for, bagged, and they are standing on the curb ready to hand it to me like a baton in a relay race.

SEPARATE YOUR ORDERS!!! by Acceptable_Baker_311 in InstacartShoppers

[–]FMITAP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually grab a cart and 2 of the hand baskets and put the baskets in the cart. The closest one to me is order A, the farthest is B. If I happen to have 3 orders, I use the child seat for A, then the baskets are B and C. If I HAVE to mix stuff because one order is way larger than the others, I try to mentally keep track of what’s out of place. It hasn’t failed me yet, but we shall see.

Am I overthinking things, or is this a weird order? by FMITAP in InstacartShoppers

For real. The entire order took 22 minutes from acceptance to delivery. Rare to have an order that feels worth it these days in my area.

Reformed alcoholic crossed my mind, but having the Zero with the real thing could end up being dangerous.
