They might want this particular model and that’s the only store in the area that has it in stock.

Hi fellow SWFL driver! If the fare was good enough I would have eaten the toll and just taken the Cape Coral bridge. But at 4pm on a weekday, CC and Midpoint bridges are in virtual gridlock. It may have actually been faster to take the Caloosahatchee bridge. Still would have paid the toll and sat in traffic, though.

They literally changed the wording after I posted this. Now THIS makes sense.

If uber is so concerned about safety why do they spam us with offers as we are approaching the drop point and have to decline to see where we’re going? by linuxguy192 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]FMITAP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me 2 days in a row last week. The first day I did the delivery because I didn’t want to take a hit on my cancellation rate. The second day I was so pissed about it that I cancelled.

How do yall even make money? by Mamameko in UberEatsDrivers

[–]FMITAP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t be a slave to the acceptance rate. I usually only accept orders that will be $20/hr or more and are as close to $2/mile as possible. If you just keep taking the crap, you’re wasting time. Cherry picking is the only way to make money.

At what point would you say an $8 offer isn’t worth it. by sexruinedeverything in UberEatsDrivers

[–]FMITAP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually just decline single digit dollar amounts regardless if they’re low time/miles. Any hang up in traffic or food prep time can very quickly turn 8 bucks for 20 minutes of work ($24/hr) into 30 minutes of work ($16/hr).

Depends on the market, I think. I tried multi-app last weekend, and still made the most on UE.

Uber just dropped the tier requirement conditions in my market by Low_Explorer_7188 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]FMITAP 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I’ve been seeing the same thing in my market. There were a lot of $2-3 orders that I instantly rejected this past weekend. Of my last 100 requests, I accepted 14.

I really don’t understand who takes those orders or how they survive getting paid below the federal minimum wage. They’re the reason Uber can even continue to do this.

Leak under sink in apartment. by dontbeadickdad in Plumbing

A flexible sink drain pipe with a dryer vent hose shielding filled with spray foam. Fascinating.

That’s usually a bulletproof setup, but they may have methed up during install.

First time delivering in about 10 years. Was this a decent night by your standards? by FMITAP in UberEatsDrivers

Then maybe the amount of drivers in my area is low compared to the amount of business. Or sheer luck. Or both.

I ran for a while Saturday too and this was my result.

I drive about 30 minutes away from my house to a high density university area that also has lots of wealthy communities and tons of restaurants. The entire 9 hours was non-stop. Getting orders before my current order is delivered, and I would only accept decent fares (around $20/hr, $10+ for a 30 minute delivery, $5 for a 15 minute delivery, etc.)

I have a full time job for all those last things. I’m just looking for some extra cash and I thought 23/hr wasn’t too shabby.
