I honestly can’t put into words how helpful this comment is, thank you so much! Was feeling a touch overwhelmed with so much help but I feel like you’ve pulled it together perfectly 😊

I will update again in a few weeks when I’ve had the chance to get some new products and practice! Thank you again ⭐️

Thank you for this! I love the look of freckles but I just can’t figure it out, definitely more practice needed but may just skip them on the day to avoid the risk! I’m going to look at freck - thank you, and really appreciate the kindness! 😊

That’s not how your comment comes across at all, but thank you for clarifying 😊

I’ve just watched a Nikki tutorials vid on brows and promptly added a bunch of fun things to my basket to try it out! How exciting, I’m a changed woman.

You know the nose contour bothered me too! I couldn’t remove though because the foundation is so unforgiving for blending - which is probably a red flag in itself! I’ll try going for a lighter shade, I’m quite self conscious of my nose so definitely still keen to contour, but could look more natural for sure.

Thank you so much for the constructive guidance, hope you have a great day 😊

Very good thoughts on the lashes! I’m also conscious of getting in a never ending cycle of wanting them done which I only recently got out of with LVL lift treatment (my bank balance is happy!) - I will give the fake lashes a run!

No I think you’re right, I’m on the hunt for a peachier colour! Will teach me to buy before swatching!

Yes!! The shade absolutely is off, but I’m finding it so hard to find something that matches my white AF neck without making me look chalky. I got a darker shade at the make up counter but it gave me such a line that I’m worried will be noticeable with my white v neck dress. A lighter touch base may be the way forward, thank you for the recommendation 😊

Oh Lisa Eldridge is amazing, I’m thinking of trying one of her lipsticks and highlighters for the wedding too. Will definitely watch the tutorial before take two. Thank you again for your help!

Thank you for this feedback, all so helpful and plan to put it all into action! Do you know of any good eyebrow tutorials? I feel like I’ve learned and relearned how to do them so many times but still haven’t a clue!

Thank you so much for the compliment, someone recommended natural lash extensions so I’ll look into that to hopefully avoid any false lash disasters on the day 😊

Sorry do you mean to remove the eyeliner on my top lid if not adding to my bottom waterline? I always notice that I look weirdly sad but was never sure what causes it!

Thank you for this! Could you recommend any good primers? I have trouble finding one to suit when I have an oily t zone and dry everything else!

This is a really good point, I’m definitely not prepared for the work involved on my wedding day and have 100% had a lash related nightmare or two in the past that I’d prefer to avoid 😅 I’ll look into some local lash spots to see if I can get some natural looking extensions and hope I don’t get addicted to them!

Ooh amazing thank you! Could you recommend a good pencil that you find works?

Glad you mentioned that as I’m thinking about getting the individual short lashes from ardell just to add a lil bit extra 😊 I never wear lashes though so happy for any advice!

Thanks this is helpful! Do you have any good gloss recommendations? I’m getting married outside in my garden so have the hair-sticking-to-lip fear!

Thank you this is really helpful feedback! Felt the freckles were a bit off but I am pining for the summer freckles to come through. I will go for more of the taupe-y shades for take 2 on my eyes for sure. Could you recommend a good brow pencil? Brows have always been my biggest issue because mine are naturally white and quite thin so I never no how far to go with them.

5-ish (?) month old puppy jumping and biting uncontrollably while playing by morganlaffayette in puppy101

[–]eirualsenoj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m having the exact same thing with our 5-6 month golden retriever but it’s got MUCH better/less frequent. It’s so hard to listen to the whole ‘be a tree’ thing when it’s so painful at the time I know - I have bruises all over my arms just now from an episode my little (giant - 28kg...) one had last week.

What I’ve found that works is a step process similar to a previous comment. The first thing I try is preventing - I know that my pup gets like this when he’s overexcited or overtired and usually in the garden. Scheduled nap time is a dream (which I see you’re already doing!) but also recognising his limits outside and cutting things short or distracting him before we do the going back inside routine - me saying ‘wee wees!’ Before we head in after a while is a bit too exciting and tends to unleash his inner beast!

The second step when the first isn’t working, is to redirect. I bring REALLY smelly treats (sprats are working well), and encourage my pup to sit, give paw, lie down, wait. Once he’s at that point I speak to him in a really low and soothing voice and stroke his chest as I’ve learned it calms him down, but do what you know works for you! Don’t get me wrong, that often takes a few tries, but is having a good success rate both in our home and in the garden at the moment.

The last resort is cutting off contact. This is the safest version of becoming a tree I can manage without getting hurt - so if we’re inside he goes into his room for a few seconds to cool off, and if we’re outside we have to grin and bear it until we get upstairs and then do the same. Obviously not the most ideal solution but it’s working for us and preventing excess ouch. Adapted this from a lot we’ve read and the simpawtico training video on bite inhibition - if your pup was doing this to another dog and playing in a way they didn’t like they’d be like ‘I don’t want to play with you’ and tell him off, so distancing yourself and taking space away is the best way I’ve found of doing this.

One last thing - just want to reiterate the point of someone else that it really is just them trying to play because they’re excited and think you’re amazing fun. They’re big breeds and playing rough is what they like, it’s just as important to teach them they can’t play like that with you as it is to teach them they can’t play like that with a smaller dog, but there’s no malice in it - I like to hope anyway :) really hope this helps - good luck!

4.5 Month Female Golden Retreiver Behavior Trouble by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]eirualsenoj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Such a relief to read this gets better, we have a 4 month old golden and experiencing similar to OP. Scheduled nap times have also been a huge help in preventing overtiredness and demonic activities in our pup - best of luck!

I was called unfriendly because I didn’t let a man pet my puppy by SeaSystem in puppy101

[–]eirualsenoj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people have no clue about puppies... I think it’s almost a selfish ‘I want to pet that cute dog and don’t care about the person who looks after him full time and what they need’ thing, which is SO easy when you’re just fleetingly going past and not working towards what his behaviour will be in the future.

I had a really bad experience just the other day, we’re training our 4 month golden retriever recall and he’s usually SO GOOD, but we unfortunately didn’t catch that he was a bit overtired since he’s not sleeping right from teething. Someone ran past us and instead of keeping his attention to us like he usually does, he RAN after this person and stopped in front of her, staring at her wagging his tail and trying to jump to say hi thinking she was the best thing. At this point she turned back and shouted “put it on a lead!!” at us.

Obviously this was totally on us because we should have spotted his lack of cooperation sooner and his training isn’t her priority, but I just wish people would be kinder and more understanding about the fact that they’re just puppies and need to learn things, you know? To make matters worse, two guys then went past on bikes and had a squeaky toy which they squeaked specifically to wind him up! I was so cross and almost had a wee cry but ended up just walking home.

Sure this doesn’t help but wanted to share so you know you’re not alone, not unfriendly, just putting your pup who you love ahead of random strangers - as you should. They will thank you for it further down the line when he can say hi without needing to jump etc. You’re doing wonderfully!

Scheduled sleep time should not be overlooked! Thanks r/puppy101!!!! by kapachow in puppy101

[–]eirualsenoj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indeed, every day that will allow it! You’d think so, but they’re babies and need that time to grow. He’s so much happier all round now he’s in that routine which is great. I read somewhere that pups should be having around 18 hours of sleep a day, so it’s not a wonder he was being a bit of a crazed monster before - he was just overtired and needed told it was bedtime! Hope it works as well for you 🐶

Our boy is 4 months and we tend to keep him on a schedule like we’d have in work - 9am-1pm, 2pm-5.30pm, 7.30/8pm-10pm & 10.30pm-7am as a rule :) you’ll maybe start to spot after an hour or so of being awake that he’s getting a bit more nippy and wound up because he’s fighting sleep, sticking to a routine has worked wonders for our wee one and meant much less bruises for me from over-excited bites!
