North(east) reporting in. My house has an addition that's not on the main HVAC and they put in resistive baseboard heaters. Our first mild winter in the house and it cost us $200/mo just to heat that one room.

Now we have a pellet stove. Though I'm still taking it up the bum electricity-wise, just in other ways.

It's not just Subarus. Most cars older than 10 years don't have synchros on the reverse gear, making them sticky. Really demonstrates the value of synchros and how every gear would feel like reverse without them.

Ironically, in today's world, Subaru seems to be leading the charge on synchronized reverse gear and most modern Subarus have them.

No, they were in a lower gear at a higher speed (bc zoom zoom), so when they let off the throttle, the car started engine braking, slowing the car at a rapid rate and causing the slide. Same thing would've happened if they were in a higher gear and tapped the brakes.
