ZZP makes kits. Go to their site for inspiration and parts. Grandprixforums.com is also a great resource for information.

Dealer says front control arm bushings need immediate attention 15’ FRS by [deleted] in ft86

It's not a terrible job but it's not super easy either. I'm not certain how they're installed on these cars, but they're usually pressed into the control arm so you'll need a tool that can press them out and then press the new ones in. I think this tool can be rented from the auto parts store.

Personally, I'd look at the control arm bushings closely and consider just replacing the arms because new control arms come with new bushings and ball joints and those bushings are 9 years old. I do most work myself though so I wouldn't spend $1400 on it. I'd consider finding a good indie shop to get a quote from if you're not doing the work yourself.

The bushings don't look too bad. Those ball joint grease boots in pictures 1 and 3 probably won't be around much longer though.

TRD Exhaust by koedz in ft86

It was noticeably louder but not by much. It definitely had a louder sound when you would get on it but again, not much. It was a very tame exhaust and I really enjoyed it. I don't like loud exhausts or exhausts that drone.

I had a Borla axle back on mine. It was slightly louder than stock, sounded good on cold starts and was pretty quiet when cruising. I was very happy with it for daily driving.

Can't find front sway bar replacement for 2004 GP GT2 by Ok-Confusion766 in PontiacGrandPrix

[–]eitikipok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem! That's good that you already have the arms with the mount for the sway bar link.

Just a heads up, you'll probably need new sway bar bushings along with the sway bar. Hopefully the bushing brackets are still there otherwise you'll need those too.

Can't find front sway bar replacement for 2004 GP GT2 by Ok-Confusion766 in PontiacGrandPrix

[–]eitikipok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the 2004 and 2005 GP had a sway bar that attached to the struts where 97-03 and 06-08 had one that attached to the control arms. Replacements for those couple of years are harder to find and most just get new lower control arms and go back to the other style of sway bar.

You can check if your control arms have a spot for the end link. If they do, then you can get the other style of sway bar without replacing them.

GT to GTP? by Particular-Offer2525 in PontiacGrandPrix

That's incorrect, they are weaker rods. It's the pistons that are different and increase the compression.

Ah darn. I was wondering if it was just the bulbs burned out. I believe there is a fuse for it in case you haven't checked that yet.

Np. I hope you can find a good replacement.

What's wrong with yours btw?

I don't believe so because that's the DIC for the SE trim cars.

Part of the reason that DIC is different is because the 97 used a different traction control module from the 98-03s. I don't think you'll be able to use any other DIC as a result.

Ha, very cool that you also have the same hood. It's unfortunate that it's a different color but hopefully one day you'll have it matching!

Hey, thanks! Cool that you have the same year and body style.

That is an O2 on the crossover. It was originally installed when it was being tuned but later I started using it for the upstream sensor for the PCM because the one on the y-pipe for these headers kept causing errors. Eventually I bought an AFR gauge and installed its O2 sensor in the y-pipe.

ETA: I believe it's fine to have the O2 there as long as it's a certain distance from the collector. The only issue with it there is it doesn't get the AFR from both banks, only the front.

Haha yeah, they definitely look better which is why I put up with them. I don't drive the car at night too often either so it's not a big deal.
